Now that we have a "credited as" option, I think it would be best to remove titles like Dr., Father, Sir, Professor, Lt., etc into that field only, and leave the first name field for true first names or stage names only.

Anyone with me?

Military rank/affiliation or other honorifics should be included in the 'Credited As' field. Example: a credit of "Cpl. John Smith, USMC" should be entered as First Name: "John", Last Name "Smith", Credited As "Cpl. John Smith, USMC"

I believe that answers the question.

Sweet.  How did I miss that one?  And how are these others getting through?

The rule change is relatively new.

There are still questions about it.

Like when the credit says Sgt Smith;
How do you enter a name like that
              Or Mayor Jones

I was very sorry to see this change. Not only what Charlie mentions above... but because of this there will be many more times we will need a birth year for like names.

I'm still trying to figuer out why it was changed.  This is the first time I can remember anybody making such a request.

I, too, was sad to see the change.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

//Smith [Sgt. Smith] or doesn't this work?
And I also see the problematic...
But perhaps we imagine more problems than there really are.

Nope. The software requires the First Name field to be entered.

Btw, the idea of a new field would be interesting, but then we need two fields (In front and behind the current fields)

So we have no possibility to enter such a credit correct??
Does a credit as Sgt. Smith often appear?

Depends on what you consider often I guess. I believe I remember seeing such a thing on more then one occasion anyway.
