Can anybody tell me why all of a sudden I have received today a load of updates for Bluray + DVD Combie editions whereby the Format has been changed from Bluray or from DVD to Bluray, DVD.

Since they are different formats, have different specs on the disc's they should not be lumped together as a single unit.

If the Release is selling the Movie on Bluray and the distribution includes the same movie on DVD then create a Child Profile for the DVD and submit that as well. I'd like to see some of those Bluray being played in an ordinary DVD player. Yes I know a DVD can be played in a Bluray player, but the two as already stated have different specs, often but not always different audio and video. I have as yet to find a DVD with 7.1 sound on it?

Here's one of the Tiles that I was going to update today until I noticed this
EAN:- 8717418203726: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Diamond Edition

Anybody else feel this way?

Here is what the updated rules say:
Sets containing the same film on multiple media types (such as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack) are to be entered as a normal profile for the main media type (Blu-ray in this example), with all included media types checked. A combo which includes HD media (HD-DVD, Blu-ray) as well as DVD should use the details from the HD media in the main profile. However, you may add an additional profile by Disc ID for the DVD content and add this profile to the Box Set contents for the Blu-ray profile.

On these combo sets they should only be adding the following checking the various Media Types Blu-ray and DVD if both are in the set.  Adding the Bonus DVD or Blu-ray as a child.  And the Disc IDs in the Disc Info for all the discs in the release.  However if the set contains a Digital Copy it gets added to the features of the main profile and to the Disc ID info if it has its own disc.

The only features, audio tracks and ect should be the main disc in the set Blu-ray if it is a Blu-ray + DVD or DVD if it is a DVD + Blu-ray.  If someone is combining features or audio tracks from both discs into the main profile I believe that is incorrect.  The child disc should only contain audio tracks and features from that disc.

When you download an update to one of these profiles if you haven't already downloaded the child before the program will prompt you do download the child disc which you can accept or decline.

The only issue with the combo profiles is it will add NTSC or PAL to the main profile, which can be an issue if it is a Blu-ray profile since Blu-ray's are digital and not NTSC or PAL.  This is probably something Ken will fix in a future release.
