How do we deal with a voter who blatantly lies when voting?

I made an update to the Canada locality blu-ray release of In the Line of Fire [043396-266483]

These were my contribution notes:

corrected running time, it is actually 128:36, verified with arcsoft totalmedia theatre

corrected tailers for 3.6, this  title only has trailers for other films and TV series, although not listed on the back cover, this title has BD-Live, both verified with arcsoft totalmedia theatre

reorganized audio tracks to how they are listed in the menu and encoded on the disc, added commentary track, both verified with arcsoft totalmedia theatre

corrected overview to what is actually printed on the cover, not sure where this one came from, but the formatting and extra words indicates it was copied from somewhere other than the back cover of this title

added discID

This is his comment with the No vote:

It actually lasts 2hrs08min. and doesn't have BDlive, what exactly is your game.

To be completely fair I initially mistyped the 128:36 as 1:28:36, but the data was always 129 I tried to send him a PM asking how he verified his info and offering to send him screenshots, but he has blocked me. This is not the first time this user has pulled something like this with a contribution of mine and unfortunately his is the only vote to date. Do you think it is worth it to PM Ken about it? Or is it too trivial.

I'd say it's no different to users who lie in the contribution notes & Ken said to let him know about those.

Edit: To say that although he's wrong about the length (using your info) so were you on that part. I can't speak for the BD Live stuff as I don't have the title.

Edit 2: Although I can't check the physical product, info I can find on the back cover and searches doesn't seem to suggest the BD Live stuff. Is it definitely there?

I was surprised to see it, because, as you say, it does not mention it anywhere. But I put the disc in my computer to add the disc ID and check audio tracks and the like and there it was under special features. Nothing really to speak of content wise except the ability to download more trailers from Sony. It must have been a very early trial. And to be accurate, there was a typo in my notes, but the actual data being contributed was 129 aka 2:09 minutes.

If it were any other user, I would chalk it up to simple error/miscommunication, but this guy has been trouble in the past, and I find his implication that I am playing a game with the data to be particularly irksome. What would I possibly gain by adding a false listing for BD Live?

In that case, I think the best thing you can do, is to get a screen shot of the BD-Live menu & put a link to it in your contribution notes. That way, the Screeners can see for themselves that it is there.

At the end of the day, if this user is trying to cause trouble, all he's doing is hurting his voting credibility & his votes will be less likely to be believed.

Well its going to have to wait until Friday, because I am travelling at the moment and do not have that title with me. I have updated my notes, but hopefully it will not be processed before I can add the screenshots.

For what it's worth, I have the US locality copy of the DVD for this film and it has a running time of 2hrs, 7 minutes.  Not saying that that is absolutely correct to the nearest minute, but certainly close enough for government work.

Perhaps your no voter just sees you mentioning 128 minutes and is mentally mis-converting that to = 1hr & 28 minutes?

his vote then to flag it. With that bit on the end, I'd say it's bypassing the filter.

I'd also remove it from your post, just to play safe!

Actually, the US Blu-ray clocks in at 128:37 or 2:08:37 or 129 min on DVDP and this disc also has BD-Live.

Bob, take screenshots showing BD Live and also the running time and post them for everyone to see and put this information (link to the thread) in your notes and PM Ken about the guys behavior.

Probably a misunderstanding. I know that there are several users out there for whom 128:36 would be 128 minutes, because they only look at the first three digits.
Got and sometimes still get "No"-votes for time corrections, after a hint on the contribution rules these usually get removed.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

You'd think the rules would have cleared up the misunderstanding (quote: "When contributing an accurate, DVD-based, time from the DVD, round down from 29 seconds and up from 30 seconds in the nearest minute") but alas...

Doesn't sound like a misunderstanding to me if you look at the language this guy uses.
