I feel sorry for his family but not for him. There are always choices in life and he made the stupid ones.

I hate junkies.

Does that matter (and I do know a couple)? Everyone has the choice, everyone knows what drugs do.

I've known a few junkies and the hype is real, they freaking suck.
They're great manipulators who make you feel wrong for doing/being right, and almost always lying and stealing as if it was eating and breathing. Not to mention the smell.

Sad to hear Cory couldn't get his act together. I swore last I heard he was nearly clean and hyped for Lost Boys 3. R.I.P.

The difference is, the people with half a brain make mistakes that don't destroy their own and their family/friends lives.

I'm a big fan of Haim and love his films, but going the drug route is selfish. If you feel depressed or really can't cope, there are many other avenues you can go down.

Out of respect for those users with addicts in their lives, please avoid generalized disparaging remarks.

Sometimes life is not that simple yes a lot do take drugs out of stupity but to then kick them when there down is just as wrong.

The best thing we can do is have them locked up and cleaned up as soon as they start on the stuff i say. As soon as someone takes drugs they should be considered mentaly unfit to take care of themself as they chose to take them in the first place.

Is not a mentaly rational decsion and hope your new exspansion is going well Sam.

This times 1000.

Junkies are selfish, period, because they don't just screw up their own lives (which I really don't care about), but everyone else's lives, as well. I have no sympathy for them.

I love Haim's films, but I'm not going to feel sorry for his death. I feel more sorry for his family and friends due to the level of crap he put them through over the years. In their sorrow, there's also, no doubt, relief.

Well, I do not think junkies choose to be junkies, things can happen in life (death of your kid, losing job, serious illness, depression, Gf/wife leaves you, no money and so on) that push someone in such a direction.
Some people are strong and can fight it, others can't. I think those people need help. With condemning them, you won't solve those problems.

Also as FilmAlba stated, thins could be projected on many other addictions:

Alcoholics, fat people, cleptomanic people, ....

just my thoughts

Unless someone has a gun to your head, I'm pretty sure putting a needle in your arm is a decision you make on your own, thus a choice.
