Well, here's a new anomaly in credits that I need some advice on.

I'm working on the credits for Stargate Universe, the first volume of season 1.

The episodes on disc 1 are available in the menu as follows:

Air - Parts 1 & 2
Air - Part 3
Air (Extended Version)
Darkness
Light

"Air - Parts 1 & 2" is a 2 hour episode and has both opening and closing credits.

"Air - Part 3" is obviously a continuation of "Air - Part 1 & 2", however, the producers chose to simply pick up the story without any opening credits.  This means that all of the main cast are not included in the credits for this episode, nor are the writers, director and other crew who were included in the opening credits of "Parts 1 & 2".

So we have at least a couple of choices:

STRICTLY BY THE RULES,
1. We can enter the cast from the opening credits of "Air - Parts 1 & 2" as "uncredited" at the end of the cast list, after the "lesser" credited characters.  The crew in the opening credits of "Parts 1 & 2" would have to be left out.

USING COMMON SENSE (since this is a continuation of Parts 1 & 2)
2. We can include all of the cast and crew from the opening credits of "Air - Part 1 & 2"

Just one more piece of information.  The cast and crew of "Air (Extended Version)" which combines "Parts 1 & 2" and "Part 3" with some additional footage, shows that other than the film editor and the sound editor, all of the cast and crew from Parts 1 & 2 are the same for Part 3 (same writers, same director, same major characters, etc.)

So what to do, what to do?
Hal

Do you mean that in the extended version it breaks down the credits into the three parts or say "Parts 1-3" or similar?

If so, then I would say add them. Ken recently allowed the use of an official site where there were no on screen credits. While not the same situation, it is very similar.

If not, I'd be a bit more hesitant as person X might not have worked on all three episodes.

If Air Part 3 isn't marked as bonus the "multiple versions" aspect of the rules kick in and you can simply take cast & crew from there.

Since the disc episode menu has an "Air-Part 3" then they should be entered the same as if there were beginning episode credits.

In the extended version, it lists all of the cast in the opening and closing credits, and identifies the different film editors by adding which part they worked on.

The cast does not indicate which parts they are in in the extended version.

Did you mean if the "Extended Version" isn't a a bonus?

Part 3 is not a "bonus".  Neither is the "Extended Version" which includes Parts 1 through 3 plus some additional footage".  There is one cast member listed in the "Extended Version" who does not appear in the credits for either "Parts 1 & 2" or "Part 3".

There are cast members listed in "Part 1 & 2" who do not appear in "Part 3", e.g., Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks, Gary Jones, etc.

Since the "Extended Version" of Air was not in the series season 1 original airdate run, I think it comes under the "multiple version" rule and should not be included.

I voted "Something Else".

If the Extended version indicates which episode some crew members worked on, I would use that as my source for Air part 3.  I don't see this as being much different than a website...which was used as documentation for a film with no crew or cast credits.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

For cast, I agree.

However, you cannot use a website for crew.  If they are uncredited, they cannot be entered.

See this thread. Ken did allow the use of a website for the crew.

I am going to submit this with the cast and crew taken from the credits for "Parts 1 & 2" and from the "Extended Version".

After reviewing the Rules, I find that no where does it say that the credits for an episode must come only from the opening and closing credits of that episode, but only that they must come from the DVD credits.

The cast and crew for this episode is in fact credited on screen in either "Parts 1 & 2" or in the "Extended Version" (which includes all three parts), therefore, they are not "uncredited" in my view.

I will include an explanation in my contribution notes.

I think the problem on this is that we've credits in this case, even if they're not complete.

To take Ken's statement, which was for a movie with absolute no credits, is a bit difference imho.

Take a explanation in your notes and let's see what will happen.

Would be nice if you let us know the result.
