Doing some editing on my profiler this morning and have discovered a situation where others around me here on the forums are good at,., The name John Hughes ( Breakfast Club, Christmas vacation and numerous others was listed in the data bank of Invelos here on my files ( I never enter YoB, but I do do editing when discovered)., is listed as 1882 Yob, well that was a no brainer to change , but then discovered another crew member named John Hughes for films out of the 40's Treasure Sierra Madre/ Sgt York etc who is an Art Director..
How do we change this again?
I know for other crew entries they would be listed as John Hughes1  and John Hughes2.

actually I figured it now after sitting on this for a few minutes .. 'I'd imagine that the original John Hughes would have to be listed as YoB and the most popular second name would not have to be listed., but when I open up Treasure of Sierra Madre and others of that ilk, I get the head shot of the 1950 John Hughes for the 1882 name.. I think that is where the problem lies. If we can separate the two names with my than a Yob indicator it would then separate the head shots . i.e. NO Headshot for the 1882 name but obviously Headshot for the most famous John Hughes ..

third possiblilty or choice  change the 1882 name to Jon Hughes  or Johnny Hughes or Jack Hughes ..,,

fourth  choice to do .. Delete the 1882 John Hughes , from the cast ..Who needs him?

Both need a birth year - so you need entries for John Hughes (1882) and John Hughes (1950). When you've compiled the necessary documentation to include in the notes for the contributions adding these birth years, please also add it to the pinned "List of Accepted Birth Years with Documentation"-thread.

I see YESTERDAY & today when looking up John Hughes (1950)-  that it is just a mess as it was 17 months ago.....

Has no one looked after this? There is a plethera of films like Christmas Vaction/ Lost in New York,Home Alone 3,/ Only The lonely all dedicated to the 1882 fellow of the same name..

I tried yesterday to change THIS  John Hughes (1882) TO 1950 and the screeners voted declined must have documented notes and yet I gave them..,, Invelos data- http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspxtask=viewtopic&topicID=250804&PageNum=26&messageID=1090132#M1090132        / WIKI  and IMDB...---- but was not good enough so I Guess we just let it slide???

I would e-mail the support because the BY thread has the various John Hughes' documented so that should be good enough. And yes, it would be good to clear this mess up.

I think you'll find this has already been done - see under Hughes in the thread you point to.

You do realize you quoted a post from nearly 1.5 years ago, right?

I don't know if this is the reason... but I never just point to the post that has the documentation in it. I always actually copy the documentation and past it into my contribution notes.

That's true. Good to do it both ways.

As I understand it, that is how it is supposed to be done and, whenever I do it, that is exactly how I do it as well and have yet to have a problem.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I actually never quote the documentation in my notes. Takes up a lot of room and generally, me being the wordy mother****** that I am, I need that space.

I link directly to the post.

Same here, 'cause that's exactly why we have that thread: so that we don't have to keep documenting the same things over and over (and over) again. And like TheMadMartian, I have yet to have a problem.
