I did a quick search but came up empty in the report forum, but I am looking for a report that will print out the UPC for each movie in my collection?  I had some problems with my collection over the last couple of days and after several attempts I honestly thought I was going to have to reenter all my movies manually again.

Entering the UPC codes of 800+ movies can be extremely time consuming (those of you over several thousand I cannot even imagine) but the biggest hassle is actually moving all the DVDs off the shelves and back again to accomplish this monumental task (no I don't have a bar-code reader)

Now before anyone responds with the obvious... yes I do keep the database back-up and I always upload my collection online, but the error I was dealing with was affecting the program itself and at one point had corrupted over 200 titles.  Ken helped me by introducing the Repair Profile Database tool!!!

Still I think a simple UPC report that lists all the UPC numbers for each movie in your collection could be a huge time saver if anyone ever experiences a catastrophic error in their database!!!

can't you use the cvs export plugin to give a listing of upc's?

this would probably work better because you could also re-import this list using the bulk edit plugin (i think it allows this) or even copy paste by hand.

or if you really want a report, you can create your own reports using the report editor

Well I haven't used any plug-ins mostly because my computer knowledge is basic at best, same excuse for not making my own report!!!

I am a very casual DVDProfiler user at best!!!

Can't remember when/where I got this report, but I just uploaded a simple listing which gives the UPC (or diskID) along with the title.  Crude, but sounds like what you are looking for.

the report editor isn't too hard to work with, especially if you just want something simple with upc, title and maybe a few other fields. Check the report downloads their might be a few available that have that info (they'll probably also include a bit more). Though as far as a re-entering the data from that list the csv export would probably be best, you might even be able to get a upc listing out of the xml export. it's not a direct listing but it does contain the upc. A simple xslt should be able to give you a listing of title and upc and someone here would probably be able to provide you with one.

I haven't really used many plug ins myself, but have made a couple reports for my own use. I can probably put together one for you (also can probably do the xslt for you too) but most likely won't have time to do so until thursday at the earliest.

One thing to keep in mind, even if your collection got totally corrupt, as long as you have a backup once the problem is sorted out (or if you did a fresh install on a new computer) that backup should be unaffected by the corruption provided it's from before the error occured.

*edit* looks like MtnMike put a report that fits your needs up while I was typing.

Here is a little trivia goodie: Set flags on the entire collection, save the flag set with some name. Guess what, you will have then just created a file (name.LST) that consists of a list of all your profileIDs (UPC.locality). You can print this file or do many other things with it.
