| Posted: | | | | Hi everyone. I have some pre-release discs sitting in my local database which aren't in the online. I'd like to submit them (in case others also want to put them in their wish lists) but because I can't find the UPC, I can't submit. Can anyone help me find the UPC of these? Star Wars the Clone Wars season 1 Blu-ray (locality: US)Saint Seiya - Lost Canvas volume 1 Blu-ray (locality: Japan)Terminator Salvation Blu-ray (locality: UK)I currently use the following sites to find UPC's: US: http://www.deepdiscount.com/UK: http://www.selectcheaper.com/Other sites to find UPC or the UPC's of the discs I'm looking for would really help me to update both my local data as well as submit to the online. Thanks in advance! | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

Some online shops like www.bn.com and www.bol.de and DVD Empire also tend to provide UPC's for future releases. | | | Hans |

Quote: Note for Japanese releases: in Japan they call the barcode not UPC or EAN, but JAN???. Yes; it uses exactly the same formation as EAN (which also encomasses UPC adding simply by adding a 0 on the front) but is what they call anything starting with the Japan country code (ie. 49), I presume on principle since they're not in Europe... Lots of interesting (well to me) info on EANs, their formation and a chec-digit calculator at: http://www.barcodeisland.com/ean13.phtml(Handy for certain companies that, say, release their internal reference for a DVD but not the EAN, BUT you can then work out the EAN if you know how they use the internal reference, eg. 2|entertain DVDs are (almost) always: 5-014503-'DVD code' 2 'Check digit' So if you find it's bbcdvd1800 (which is easier than finding the EAN usually) it would be: 5-014503-180027 (the 7 is the check digit which the site above works out for you) FWIW this is 2|entertain's recent (excellent) Doctor Who serial The War Games release | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong | | | Last edited: by Voltaire53 |
