| Posted: | | | | I've noticed that under some discs there are extra profiles, for example 24 has seperate entries for each of the 6 or 7 discs within the series. Can someone advise if there is a way to update my collection to now include these profiles without deleting and readding the title. ill give an example
I bought 24 season 4, when i added the EAN it says there were extra profiles and did i want to download them, i said yes so it added disc 1 to 7 under the 24 heading, as an experiment i though i would try adding seasons 1 to 3 again but of course it says it is already in your collection if you just put in the EAN again.
So i deleted and readded seasons 1 to 3 and it gave me the choice of downloading the profiles, which i did, so is there any way to add these profiles without having to delete and re-add.
Also i noticed that sets like alien quadrilogy only have 2 additional profiles (alien 3 and ressurection) how can I add alien and aliens to the profile and contribute it.?
Thanks for your help

| Posted: | | | | Hi Steve,
What you do to check whether or not there are child profiles for any profile already in your collection is select the profile in question and then press Ctrl-F12. If there are any (additional) child profiles, the programme will tell you and offer you to download them.
Good luck!

Do you know how I would add child profiles myself to discs in order to contribute?

Once they've been approved, create the parent profile. While editing, in the left column you'll see an entry Box Set Contents. Click on that one and you'll be presented a list from which you can pick the child profiles you want to attach. Contribute your new parent profile.
If the parent profile already exists a stand-alone profile, the procedure I would recommend is very similar. Create the child profiles, submit them and wait for approval. Once approved, start editing the existing stand-alone profile, go to Box Set Contents, attach the children and submit. In your contribution notes you can say you've attached the child profiles you've created earlier on.
EDIT: please note the Contribution Rules are different for parent profiles depending on whether it's a box set of movies or a TV series. In case of movies, the parent profile is pretty much bare-bone and e.g. does NOT contain any cast and crew credits. In case of TV series, profiles at the level of complete seasons/series contain all information, including full cast and crew. Creating child profiles for these at the level of individual discs is optional, but not compulsory - that's why for TV series the parent (complete season) profile has to contain all data as well. Mega sets containing several individually packaged complete seasons of TV series are treated the same way as movie box sets, with a bare-bone profile for the entire set, child profiles for each complete season with all data and optionally grandchild profiles for each disc within a season. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |
