| Posted: | | | | I came across an interesting problem trying to contribute Disc IDs. I recently got the TV Series Square Pegs: The Complete Series during a Deep Discount Buy one Get one Free sale. I noticed there was only the main (parent) profile... which needed a LOT of work. That is no problem... I don't mind it.
First thing I did was try adding some of the missing/wrong info to the main profile. There was no disc IDs attached to the set at all. So I put in the first disc and go to add it. I get a pop-up stating that the disc in the drive couldn't be verified as a DVD (or something like that). So I did most everything else.
I thought well I doubt it will work... but let me try to make the child profiles. To my surprise it let me with no problem. And it added the disc IDs to the profile with no problems. So it seems there is some sort of problem with some discs that Add DVD will see the disc ID but the Add Disc Info Screen does not.
I don't know if this is a known problem... and I just missed it or what... but it certainly is strange. Has anyone else seen anything like this? Is there any other way you know of to get the disc info into the parent profile? | | | Pete |

I thought well I doubt it will work... but let me try to make the child profiles. Maybe I misunderstood, but you're not supposed to add disc IDs to a box set. The disc IDs should only be in the childs. |

| Posted: | | | | You are mistaken... this is a TV Series boxset... where if you check the rules in the TV Series section all info belongs in the parent profile as well as the child profiles for TV Series... because there is many people that don't like to use child profiles for TV Series. So the disc IDs do belong in both the parent profile and the child profiles in this case. | | | Pete |

It's a TV series, so you're allowed both. Either way, Profiler wouldn't know the difference so should be able to add the IDs - it would just be very naughty to contribute them! |

Actually, for a "Complete Series" TV set, it is strictly a Boxset, so the disc IDs should not be in the parent profile. | | | Hal |

Actually, for a "Complete Series" TV set, it is strictly a Boxset, so the disc IDs should not be in the parent profile. This particular series only lasted one season. Just like any season set of a sitcom... it is only 3 discs with 19 episodes (in this case). Which is the reason I think that particular rule says... Rules Quote: Quote: Note: In rare cases where multiple Complete TV Series are packaged together, the Box-set rules can be applied, treating each series like a single film - applying the above rules for it’s individual profile. See areas I put in bold... in this case it should NOT fall under boxset rules since it is not multiple series/seasons. | | | Pete |

PAC-MAN FEVERAfter budding comic Marshall becomes obsessed with a video game, his friend Johnny Slash plans an intervention with the help of Marshall's favorite Comedian. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | At the same time Pete (not going against what you are saying):- Quoting Addicted2DVD: Rules Quote: Quote: Note: In rare cases where multiple Complete TV Series are packaged together, the Box-set rules can be applied, treating each series like a single film - applying the above rules for it’s individual profile. As you point out CAN is not the same as should. After all a TV series is a TV series whether there is one season or ten seasons, it is still a TV series. Running for cover Steve |
