Don't consider my answer as definitive but I looked into it and couldn't determine a way to use a custom genre as an edit condition.  Even checked Tags without luck.

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to help you but I wanted to thank you for your question.  I wasn't aware that custom genres could be added.  The option didn't appear on my Tools menu but I was able to add it by customizing the menu bar.  I did see that it does appear as an option on the default Invelos High Resolution layout and but haven't been able to determine why this is.
