| Posted: | | | | I've searched the forum for this, but can't find it ... but is there a keyboard shortcut that can be assigned to the Play/Retrieve disk icon -- so the current DVD can be played with a single keystroke? [or, more usefullly, a single button on the remote control for my HTPC]
Other keyboard shortcuts would be useful as well ... but this is the major one. The arrow buttons and page up/down (which already work via the remote control) are "okay" for general navigation -- but a "Play" button would sure be nice !! |

| Posted: | | | | Invelos is not a dvd playback program such as (i.e.) powerdvd is.. therefore if you are playing back the dvd wouldn't that WMP or other program be applicable for using space bar/escape/enter etc for short cut keys?
Invelos would be able to identify the disc ID from the DVD player program to trigger the title in quesiton , when Invleos is up and running on desktop to point to the disc playing in question..
Probably a better route to use for short cut key for Playback would be the 'windows' program itself for navigating a new shortcut key for the function being used (within the GUI system) of XP/vista itself.... | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | As widescreen said, Profiler is collection software, not media playback software. That's not to say it can't be done. Have a look at mediadogg's plugin, here, to see if that will do what you want. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. For those of you that don't know, "Play/Retrieve" is in fact a LoadDVD plugin command and the disc icon(s) are a part of it. This feature request for a shortcut is mentioned several times in the LoadDVD thread. I'm working on it. As for pronouncements of "what DVD Profiler IS or IS NOT", it is just a software program that slavishly does whatever it is programmed to do: - A set of functions and features that the original author / owner has provided. - A set of feature extensions, enabled by the owner, via a plugin process that one must register and sign agreements, to provide. The toolkit that the author provides has no artificial limitations or restictions on what the plugin can do with Profiler data. So, DVD Profiler, as extended, IS a DVD Playback program. And over 13,000 hits to my download page says that it is a feature that has not been overlooked. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. So extended means of course more than what 3.5 is by it self.. You need plugins and add ons etc.. to make one's own 'LoadDVD plugin command ' and its own disc icon???? | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. As extended, yes. 'Out of the box', no. While it is good that Ken has made it easy to create all these plugins, that extend the use of Profiler, it is not a DVD playback program. A DVD playback program would have that feature built in. It would not rely on the users to create that functionality on their own. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Ok, I certainly understand your various points of view. I only responded because the OP referred to a specific command that in fact is part of my LoadDVD plugin - "Play/Retrieve" and his desire to have a shortcut for it, which I would have to code. And my point is that some philosophical argument about what DVD Profiler was or wasn't didn't change the fact that he is getting that functionality and is asking for it to be improved. He might have made a request to put this functionality into the main program - a perfectly valid request, and one I would support, but his request was to make a change in my "Play/Retrieve" code. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered to even get involved. Anybody has an issue with plugins - just don't use them, and / or complain to Ken that they shouldn't be allowed. But you can't shout them away with bold type ... Perhaps we should agree to disagree on this, and move on ... more fun to play with DVDs, right? | | | Thanks for your support. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered to even get involved. Had I known that it was a request for a modification of a plugin, I wouldn't have bothered to even get involved. I thought it was a request for a shortcut, in the program, for something the program didn't do.
