OK, this may be in the wrong section so I am prepared for the lambasting. I have read about "child profiles" but have no idea what they are, where to create them, etc.

I assume a child profile is a sub-profile of a set (like the Indiana Jones Box Set - which would be the "adult profile" and that each individual movie has it's own "child profile"). How do I get/view child profiles into my collection?

Thank you

Hi hornplayer (nice whiskers),

Child profiles, as the name implies, are children of parents (parents being box sets in this case).  I posted the exact question a few weeks ago, and got a "perfect" reply you can find here :

Find 8ballMax's reply, it's the 3rd one down.  Worked like a charm.

Hey hornplayer

Child profiles have to be added manually just like the adult ones, which means for a boxed set also downloading the movies that are in the box ("Raiders of the Lost Ark", "Temple of Doom", "Last Crusade").

After they are downloaded, select the "adult" profile (the "Indiana Jones" boxed set, in this case), CTRL+E to bring up "Edit Profile", go down to the "Boxed Set Contents" section and move the movies over that belong in the boxed set.

After being saved, the movies will be indented inside of the adult profile.

EDIT: Wow, I'm slow.

Thank you both - it took a little messing around with it but I basically understand.

With the new version we should be able to grab the child profiles automatically when we add new discs to our collection.  That will alleviate a lot of this confusion.

And with the new image galleries, I can stop going and getting the indiviual profiles of films in a boxset for the cover art (since the proper child profiles have the box art). Gonna need to do a bit of work on my collection when I start using that, but it's a good thing.
