There's a two-season (or "series" in UK) pack and it contains two individually packed seasons of the "IT Crowd".

The problem is, they have both "season indicators" as well as "versions". What would be your title contributions for those three items?

IMO

"The IT Crowd: Version 1.0"
"The IT Crowd: Version 1.0 & Version 2.0"
"The IT Crowd: Version 2.0"

"The Complete..." is a description, but not part of the title.

Except according to the rules Season indicators ARE part of the title.

Rules Quote:
Quote:
Season indicators, if listed on the cover, should be entered as part of the title, not the description.  e.g. Angel: The Complete First Season.

Except in this case, Version 1.0 and Version 2.0 are also season indicators.

I'm not 100% sure which one I'd go for, but I'm tempted to agree with Caleb simply because it conforms more with the style and the humour of the content of the DVDs.

Exactly.  Version # is their cutesy way of saying Season #--the season indicators.  (Then they add the other for us squares. )

I'm trying to come up with another example, but it's escaping me right now...

I would say "Version 1.0" is the season indication and "the complete first series" is just an additional explanation text.

I can't see the images (blocked from work) but from my copies and what I've seen online:

The IT Crowd: Version 1.0
The IT Crowd: Version 1.0 & 2.0: The Complete First & Second Series
The IT Crowd: Version 2.0: The Complete Second Series

The Rules say to use the covers which means they don't 'match' nicely but so don't a lot of TV series like On the Up which has series 1 & 2 as:

On the Up: The Complete First Series
On the Up: The Complete Second Series

but series 3 is:

On the Up: The Third and Final Series

PS One day I'll get around to doing the Easter Eggs on Series 2 but since only about one person in the world actually has worked them all out in full they may be a little sketchy!
It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong

Agreed
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I know this. What I was replying to is the fact that he stated that the one that said "The Complete First & Second Series" is not part of the title but a description when it definitely is per the Rules.  I never once said that the version info wasn't also.

Having 2 separate season indicators is something that has just recently been popping up (in R1 US atleast) so the rules hasn't covered yet what to do in this situation.

Here is one I recently noticed...

Says both Season 10 and The Tenth Season

Luckily I haven't any like this in my collection yet to have to deal with it. Really not sure how to handle such cases for the online at this point.

I've chosen to argue that both "Version" as well as "Series" are season indicators, but that the first is closer to the title and in the mood of the show.

Thus far, I've received only yes votes for that reasoning.

As for the above image, I would argue in much the same way and would contribute "Cheers: Season 10" since it is directly below the title and in a similar (the same?) font.
