| Posted: | | | | Hi, for some days now I encounter the following error message if I want to sign in to DVD Profiler Online in order to upload/sync my collection (Click path: Online - DVD Profiler Online - Sign In - Next): The online system generated an unrecognized error. Please try again later. But trying again later doesn't help. Anyone else has/had this problem? Any hint is greatly appreciated! TIA, Cashburner. |

| Posted: | | | | This message usually appears if the connection has timed out. So check your connection and firewall settings. If you're using a proxy-server make sure to assign it via DVDProfiler menu "Tools -> Options -> Online" Here you can also check if the internet connection for DVDProfiler is working. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | I don't think that it is an outtimed connection since the message appears just after clicking "Next". My connection is ok (otherwise I could not post this one ), I checked the firewall logs - they're ok - I even switched off my firewall while trying to connect via DVDProfiler - nothing helps. Is there an internal DVDProfiler logger that could be switched on? And if it wasn't strange enough: the connection check (Tools - Options - Online) says that DVDProfiler is configured correctly. But syncing my collection still fails... |

| Posted: | | | | Hmm, do the refresh-functions in the DVDProfiler menu section "Online" work for you? | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Try changing the Tools -> Options -> Online settings to use "Use alternate Internet connection method (or turn it off if you are).
Sometimes the normal upload/download of data will work but the Online connection bit won't until you get it spot on. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| Posted: | | | | I'm getting more and more ... The refresh functions work properly and playing around with the online settings doesn't help. I'm pretty sure that I changed nothing on my system because some days before I synced my online collection as I always did. I think I will re-install DVDProfiler, maybe this will help. I'll report. If anyone has another hint meanwhile, please don't hesitate to share it with me. Still ... Thx, Cashburner. |

| Posted: | | | | But your upload did work though? as you have over 754 titles uploaded in base now.. or is that an older upload? If not and if so.,, You could try turning off your virus protection., would be one solution., then of course the firewall settings is another area.. You could also try a different computer,. ( same id login- setup ) If that works ..it may be a setting within your current PC now.. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | Just to keep you informed: I did *not* yet re-install DVDProfiler, but - and that's weird - the upload of my collection worked again today! so, I don't know what happened meanwhile - I didn't install or delete anything. I think the truth is out there... Thanks for your support! |
