| Posted: | | | | I have the Samsung Bd-P 1400. With the firmware 1.8. In the US the 1.9 is available for some time now. So I was wondering if I could use that. Since the two machines are identical and the firmware doesn't affect the area code I though it might work.
Did anyone try it yet? | | | Check out my Youtube channel under https://www.youtube.com/user/alittleolder |

| Posted: | | | | I do not know with regard to this machine but Sony make it very cleat that this MUST NOT be done with the PS3 as it will confuse the software and make the machine unplayable. Remember all these players have their own region coding and possibly other regional set ups and an upgrade usually reloads a new set of updated software. Ask Samsung but my guess is not. I respond only because the Sony position makes a lot of sense and probably applies to all blu ray players. Better not take the risk. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks. I probably wouldn't have done it anyway. I just posted a new topic asking people if they know when they'll finally release that FW update in Europe.
With the PS3 it makes even more sense. With a regular player which has a chip for the area coding it might work but I don't wanna risk it. | | | Check out my Youtube channel under https://www.youtube.com/user/alittleolder |
