When my back was turned today for a few minutes today my 5 year old Granddaughter decided to do some house cleaning with the bottle of Windex and a cloth. She not only did the coffee table and glass tables but she also sprayed and sprayed and sprayed the front of my 46" LCD monitor which subsequentially ran to the bottom of the screen and sat in three puddles along the bottom, behind the face plate. Right now I have three large black ( liquid) splotches along the bottom of the screen., I'm hoping they will dry out, but what it really needs is for the cover to come off this monitor ( large plastic face plate over the LCD screen under neath) so it can be cleaned or repaired properly. It's still under the 1 year warranty. If it fails to work this way,I'll have to take it in to be replaced or fixed..
Anyone had a situation like this? Can it dry by itself? Is the cover readily easy to come away from the housing?

I'd go to AVSForum, then go the LCD section and ask there.  You'll get TONS more answers I'm sure.  And this is something you want answered ASAP.  I'm sure you'll get an better answer there. You may even find an owners thread for you model with people who will be intimately familiar with the construction and whatnot.

Thanks Mark..

It looks like this can be a common problem. and with the right tech and the seperating of the panel covers it should dry out and work..

I'll post back in a few days...,,

It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

98%...  slowly getting there..
I have of course instructed my Grandaughter about the pros and cons of using spray cleaners.
She now knows what Not to use.. and We now have a special soft cloth that is to be 'misted' with a special 'cleaner' onto the cloth first then the glarescreen in a large swiping motion..

... And when all's shiny and bright pour a bottle of Windex behind the face plate so that the other side of the glass gets clean too!
