FAO - Techinical Support Dept.

I have added many DVD's to my collection including the following two:

The Rock - Blu-Ray - 786936726732
Zodiac - HD - 097361313344

I had noticed that whilst running "Refresh Updated Profiles from Invelos..." I would received the above error message however I just cancelled the update (or unchecked these two films pre-update) and all was fine.

Today I noticed that for some reason the thumbnail images associated with these films, in my database, had changed (one to 300 and the other to Mad Max) although the full size image was correct. I therefore deleted them from my collection.

Obviously I am unable to re-add them due to the above error message and the word "Failed" against the profile download (the images appear to download OK).

To pre-empt some of your possible questions/solutions:

1. I am running the latest version of the software
2. I have turned off any firewalls or protection software i.e. AV etc. to test and the problem still occurs.
3. To date of my many 100's of DVD's only these two have a problem.
4. They downloaded fine in the past and only appear to have become an issue since the profile was updated.
5. I have tried to search your forums however the search 'times out'.

Is it possible that these two profiles are somehow corrupted within your master database?

Can you please investigate and advise at your earliest convenience.

Many Thanks

I'm not technical support.

However I've just added and refreshed both titles to my copy of profiler with no problems.

One questiob you haven't pre-empted is have you run the database repair tool yet?

when you right click in the Collection List window top right corner on the button for thumbnail view you should have 2 options:
  • Thumbnails Settings
  • Rebuild Thumbnails <-Try this one

  • if this option is not available:
    DVD Profiler Menu
    Tools
    Options
    Left hand Tab: Utilities
    Reset All Menus

Why do I get errors when downloading some images?
    Answer:

The yellow X that appears next to skipped images indicates that there are no images available online. This is normal behavior.

If, however, you are receiving an error message processing the file, the problem may be related to a firewall or filtering software. If you have CyberSitter, NetNanny, or similar software, configure it to allow all files from www.invelos.com and static.invelos.com

Just tried to download these profiles, they work fine here.
So please perform a database repair via DVDProfiler menu "Tools -> Options ->Utilities -> Database Repair..." Choose the default settings for a complete repair.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Thanks to everyone for their replies and suggestions. It’s reassuring to know that a product is supported by such a helpful and knowledgeable community.

The database repair utility (I had missed that one  ) worked a treat and I have added the suggested search URL to my bookmarks.

    Case closed.
