Hello,
just corrected my profile of "The Dark Crystal" and had to realize that almost all existing profiles of this movie are IMDB clones, or at least incorrect.
It's quite easy to recognize these. IMDB had a misprint instead of the actor "Swee Lim" IMDB had a "Swim Lee" in the credits (this seems to be corrected). The inconsistencies are not limited to this actor, so in most most cases this profile would need a total rebuild.

Funily this effects even some of the "StarWars / Return of the Jedi" - profiles, where this obviously non-existent actor / puppeteer is mentionend too.

Thanks for your interest and help

EDIT: Another indicator is the existence of a "Hugh Spirit" the correct entry should be "Hugh Spight"
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

It's amazing how often this happens, and on which movies. I looked over the R1 SE profile of Lost Boys the other day, normally one of the bastions of fanboy love, and the credits were IMDB to the letter! Seems strange that no-one spotted this before, on such a popular film. And of course it had been copied to the Blu-ray as well, and who knows where else.

Still, that's what we do, fixing stuff!

Unless it affected a major actor, I admit I would probably never notice... Because, honestly, who cares about pupeteers?

The only time I go through the entire credits is when I enter a new profile from scratch. In most cases the IMDb data is "good enough". But obbiously should be corrected if it is spotted. So thanks to everyone who makes the effort!

I'm hoping someone will do the R1 Superbit of The Dark Crystal (so I don't have to)... but I was thinking, there's a great idea for a plug-in here if one of the developers wants to get onto it.  Something that allows comparison of the existing cast data to the IMDb data, and flags stuff that matches.  There would be some false-positives, but it would identify problem profiles rather quickly.

The UK version I have (5035822014695) is also wrong. Excellent catch. I'll have to update this one also.

Once goblinsdoitall's update goes through just do a copy and paste of his data; it'll take you about 30 seconds at most!

Ruben....you've got it wrong.

Swee Lim is correct.

I've personally checked my copy of The Dark Crystal (5035822014633) and it has the correct Swee Lim credits.

Swim Lee is WRONG.

Actually as noted by Ruben in a contribution of Return of the Jedi, Swim Lee does exist and is credited in Star Wars Episode VI.

The Dark Crystal on the other hand indeed has a credit for Swee Lim.

The correct credits are available for Disc-ID IAA6C16111A201723 around 08/10 (contributed them on 08/05).

EDIT: They can already be checked in my online collection "Der Dunkle Kristall". The dividers aren't really beautiful, but they appear to be like this in the actual credits.

Since the puppeteer combination "Swim Lee and Hugh Spirit" or better "Swee Lim and Hugh Spight" is mentionend in both cases it's very likely that there is a misprint in either of the credits. But it's only likely, not provable AFAIK.
In the case of the "Dark Crystal" we too have totally messed up credits in the profiles (not in order of crediting, false role names, cast missing, undocumented uncredited cast, false jobs in the crew credits, etc.)
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!

I made a contribution for the same Disc-ID this evening. Must be for another UPC though, since I can't see your contribution.
