| Posted: | | | | Hi,
I'm sorry to be such a nuisance, but I'm having trouble with DVD Profiler. I had an old version on my laptop - version 2.7 I think. This was fully paid-for, and I have a Registration key for it. I have now deleted the old version of the programme from my computer, installed the all-new 3.1.1 version, and have registered, but I can't seem to modify my old key to a new one, in order to make 3.1.1. fully-operational and useable.
My old key was: KEY REMOVED BY POSTER
I don't get what I'm doing wrong. Am I going to have to re-buy the software again, or is there something really stupid (and possibly obvious) that I should/should not be doing.
My e-mail address is: E-MAIL ADDY REMOVED BY POSTER
Please help me. I tried to access your FAQ's, but kept getting error messages, which didn't help matters.
Thanks in advance,

| Posted: | | | | First of all you should delete your key immediately from your post. Then you create an account on this website with your key. Use this link for it. I don't remember it, but I think a new 3.x key is then generated for you | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

You should treat this site just like you would any other on the internet. You do not want to put any information out there that anyone else can benefit from. For the most part, people on here are honest enough not to take advantage of this, but you just never know. | Posted: | | | | Hi All, Okay, firstly, thanks for the advice r.e. my DVD Profiler key. Your warnings have been duly noted. I deleted my older version of DVD Profiler, as there was no information in it worth keeping. Hence, I didn't bother backing up any of the old databases. I've installed 3.1, and Signed Up for a new account which I now have, using the link shown by DJ Doena. However, when I try to upgrade my key, it's asking me to pay another $29-95 for Lifetime's Updates. It says my old key was a "Free Key", and not a Premium Key! So, does this mean, I now have to buy a key, in order to use the program to its full capabilities? Your help once more, would be greatly appreciated, to help clarify the matter for me, please. Thanks again, in advance. Pooch | | | Last edited: by PoochJD |

Or do you have any "funny" letters in your name that the webserver doesn't recognize? Being from Germany I know that some users with Umlauts in their names had a bit of trouble at the beginning. Quote: However, when I try to upgrade my key, it's asking me to pay another $29-95 for Lifetime's Updates. It says my old key was a "Free Key", and not a Premium Key! Ah ... you might have c&p the wrong key. With v2.x you always had to have a key, the free one for running it anyways and the premium after you had paid. Maybe you extracted the free from your first registration mail instead of the premium from the second? Quote: So, does this mean, I now have to buy a key, in order to use the program to its full capabilities? Nope, a ton of people, me included, upgraded their keys without any problems. After making sure that you really tried the premium key I suggest that you click on "Contact Us" at the bottom of the page and fill in all the old information about your key that you have, they will handle this, I'm sure. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki | | | Last edited: by Mithi |
