| Posted: | | | | Before you rush off to theaters to catch Quantum of Solace this November, MGM and Fox are planning to keep you squarely planted on the couch for at least a few days in October. Announced today, the two studios have agreed to push out a half dozen Bond classics on Blu-ray this October (20th internationally; 21st in North America), each of which will be "restored and re-mastered." The films in question are Dr. No, Die Another Day, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, From Russia With Love and Thunderball. There's no mention of a price just yet, but judging by how extraordinarily well Casino Royale did, we're sure these will do just fine.

| Posted: | | | | If they'd release them all i'd probably buy them (already bought the single disc editions, later replaced those with the 2-discs in suitcase packaging). But releasing only six seems like a strange decision to me.
I guess i'll have to be patient till they decide to release them all.

| Posted: | | | | They released "restored" Ultimate Edition (what ever this means) versions in November & December 2006 of the first 20. Alll but 'Casino Royale' & 'Never Say Never Again' which it's a part of the franchise.
I just review them again of my OPPO DV-981HD at 1080p. They looked great. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. Ineptocracy, You got to love it. "Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power." - Abraham Lincoln |

| Posted: | | | | I also own all the Ultimate Editions. According to MGM they cleaned up the prints and redid the sound on every disc. And they included some extras that really noone needs. Still, I really like the packaging. | | | Check out my Youtube channel under https://www.youtube.com/user/alittleolder |

| Posted: | | | | Call me negative, but I'd wager these will be stripped down to nothing with no extras as so many BD releases are these days. Go ahead MGM and Fox impress me for once! Fox's record is better with what they did recently with Patton and somewhat with The Sand Pebbles but they are EXCEPTIONS.
Just me grousing I guess. |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Bill Hunt @ The Digital Bits Quote: There's BIG Blu-ray news today folks. MGM Home Entertainment has just OFFICIALLY announced that they'll be releasing no less than SIX classic James Bond films on Blu-ray on 10/21, including Dr. No, Die Another Day, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, From Russia with Love and Thunderball. The exact specs and features are still TBA, but the studio's press release indicates that each will offer "state-of-the-art Lowry process digital frame-by-frame restoration and featuring special features galore" which would seem to indicate that all of the extras on the recent DVD editions will be ported over. This, of course, is happening to help promote the theatrical release of the new Bond film, Quantum of Solace, this November. Very, very exciting news! | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

| Posted: | | | | Knowing the history of Bonds, they'll release zero-extra Blu-rays and then in two years remastered versions and then two years after that the good versions they should have released in the first place. I'll wait for the Ultimate Edition, thanks. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

Did you even READ the post before yours? Guess not! Sad really. Yeah, I read it as well but it aint official pal. It's just a rumor and a hope at this point that they will "port" (odd term that) over the goodies. If we don't speak up and complain they won't get the word. |

| Posted: | | | | I guess when ever I read a press release in the future, I'll remember it is only rumor and speculation. Thank you for setting me stragiht. All this time, I thought the idea of a Press Release was to present the press with the facts. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... | | | Last edited: by NewEnglander |
