| Posted: | | | | Has anyone else run into the error "Socket Error #10053 Software casued connection abort" when trying to upload a contribution?
All the other online facilities seem to work OK for me but trying to contribute has suddenly (as of last Thursday) become impossible. The only thing I can think of that I may have done is to install a new Firefox plugin but I've uninstalled that now and the problem is still there. I know I am having to operate through work's firewall but I have the correct proxy in there (or it wouldn't let me download anything or upload data to DVD Profiler online, both of which have no problems) so has anyone got any ideas?

The pages are slow to update, i've noticed will uploading links. could be the reason, have no profiles to upload. Maybe if you try a bit later when the US is a sleep? | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Maybe if you try a bit later when the US is a sleep? I'll give it a go but this isn't a timeout, it's very quick to tell me there's an error as soon as it's done its 1.7K initial data transfer. I have a nasty feeling the McAfee stuff on the PC has been updated a bit 'enthusiastically' but, being a work PC, it's locked down and I can't change the settings to allow DVDP to be an exception or similar... looks like I won't be contributing except at weekends if I'm right | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong | | | Last edited: by Voltaire53 |

But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I'll just have to store the contributions up until the weekends I suppose! At least I can use the rest of the functionality (touch wood)... | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong | | | Last edited: by Voltaire53 |
