How should I enter this title into the DB?

The Edition Field is not long enough to fit 'Director's Cut: Ultimate Collector's Edition', so should I use the title field for either, or leave something out?

Thanks Skip - the on-screen title is just Troy, so I guess I'll try to contribute with your suggested abbreviation...

Troy is a different movie. This is the expanded version. Technically both the film and title have been modified. Look at the studio blurb on the back, it says "Troy Director's Cut" within quotation marks. And on the front, the title and edition are clearly separated. But that's just my opinion...

In my view, "Director's Cut" editions are, well..., editions. 
The screen title usually remains unvaried, AFAIK.  "Troy" is still "Troy".  And that should tell you something.

IMHO, that only shows that we cannot *always* trust the back blurb as an authoritative source about the title of the movie for DVDP purposes.

It seems to me that for DVDP purposes a Director's Cut version is the same movie as the original release.

From the Rules:

For films that have been updated (e.g., a Special Edition or Directors Cut) use the year of the original release, not the year that the re-release was “made” or released.

If the cover looks anything like the HD covers in the database (the first 2 I could find), then I think Patsa's idea of using modified title could be a valid one.
The cover shows "Troy: Director's Cut" as a title and in the case of the HD versions, a strap at the top containing "Special Edition"
So if this cover is similar then you could go for:
Title: Troy: Director's Cut
Edition: Ultimate Collector's Edition
Original Title: Troy

That seems to cover all the bases and is still as per rules.

Edit: Alexander Revisited does the same. "Alexander Revisited: The Final Cut" as title, "2 Disc Special Edition" as edition, original title is "Alexander".
