I apologize but I don't know how else to describe what I see and I find it just as offensive as you claim to find what I say. So where is the middle ground. I am being honest with you in my reaction and how i view it, and if have the temerity to try and explain something it is inevitably argued with automatically because after all it is Skip or so it seems.
As I have said none of this is a one way street, if i am supposed to respect the viewpoint of others and not come to conclusions the perhaps others need to THINK how their comments MIGHT be viewed.

In lieu of that, I guess we need a Profiler specific definition. While John Wayne may be a stage name, I don't think very many of us would want to have it parsed John Wayne//.
"If it looks like a stage name..." is a rather vague description, but it probably reflects what Ken intended and what the majority would like. So I would probably say "If it mimics a real name (first name, possible middle name(s) and a last name), enter it as such, otherwise enter it all in the first name field".
I'm sure we will still have cases that may be difficult to decide, but it's the best I can think of. If somebody has a better definition, I'm open for suggestions. Just what is wrong with this post? And don't give me that "I won't go into detail" cop out. That's just adding insult to injury. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users.

I have repeatedly described our discussions over this and explained how we all felt about it and this was two years ago and we have followed that eversince. And you say YOU WANT, YOU Want do it locally, we treat John Wayne as a regular name NOT as a Stage Name. Gunnar as I have siad elsewhere, we are not gooing to reset the Rules and confuse everybody every time somebody or some group says I WANT to do it this way, That will only reduce participation and increase user confusion, so what is the Rule THIS WEEK.
I have done my level best to explain it to you, Gunnar and you say you don't like that. Ansd all i can say is I am sorry but it changes nothing.

I tried to make a suggestion that would put into the rules that names like John Wayne should be treated as a regular name, just like you want.
You insult me, and your defense is that I want to change the rules.
I don't want to change the rules, I want to clarify them. And nowhere in my post do I say anything remotely like "I want".
You, sir, are the most aggravating person to have a discussion with, because you are so fixated on your ideas that you cannot even recognize when someone is actually agreeing with you.
