| Posted: | | | | Ok, now I'm sure someone is going to say 'change the locality' here, but I don't think that's the solution.
I have purchased 2 dvd's directly from the film maker. They are Chance and Lovers, Liars and Lunatics by Amber Benson (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Now obviously these are US locality as the only place you can get them from is the US and you have to pay in USD and obviously only a US RRP. However, Amber being a nice girl and all that, decided to do 2 versions of the dvd's. A NTSC version and a PAL version. Living this side of the pond I decided to get the PAL versions.
So obviously currently, the contribution system won't allow you to contribute a US locality profile with PAL video format. | | | Home of the phpDVDProfiler forums |

It does seem odd that you can't have a PAL US disc though, I know they'd be rare, but I don't see any benefit to stopping you entering the data completely. |

| Posted: | | | | I've seen the other direction too. My father has some British auto racing videos that he ordered from England in NTSC. | | | Tom. |

| Posted: | | | | There are NTSC DVDs in Australia and PAL DVDs in Brazil.
I own some of those. They have warnings on the cover and all (well, stickers, usually). | | | With every passing hour our solar system comes forty-three thousand miles closer to globular cluster M13 in the constellation Hercules, and still there are some misfits who continue to insist that there is no such thing as progress. |

| Posted: | | | | Why can't you add it as PAL under US, is it automatically rejected?
I've submitted the UK profile for All the Real Girls (NTSC). First time it was rejected but the second time it was accepted after pointing this out in the contribution notes.
BTW, where can I get the Amber Benson DVD's ? :-) | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah it was auto rejected at contribution time, with the nice message of :- This profile cannot be contributed due to the following errors: * DVDs from this locality should use NTSC video standard. As for where you get the movies, you can get them both from http://www.loversliarsandlunatics.com/dvd.htmAs for Australian ntsc titles, which there are lots, dvdprofiler allows those no problem. It seems just to have the rule for R1. I did notice that someone had contributed Chance as a UK locality with a USD RRP. So, that's wrong anyway. | | | Home of the phpDVDProfiler forums |

| Posted: | | | | Contribute as NTSC and change it later to PAL, might work. Even as NTSC, its better then wrong locality IMO. | | | Last edited: by whispering |
