I only bought a truck because I was tired of never being able to haul things around. I've used it to carry gravel to puts in the kid's play area. I've used it to haul things to the dump. I've used it to move big items from one location to another. And to bring all this back home, I used it to bring my 56" TV home. But I did buy a small pickup. /Mikkel Well, around where I live it seems almost everyone has a big truck - and they certainly do not live or work on farms. Most of those trucks and SUVs will never go off road. My wife drives a medium sized SUV - and to be honest I think it makes her feel safer ( and me ) to think of the extra metal between her and the other idiots weaving around while yacking inanely on cellphones. Man this is a good soap box topic  |

| | Posted: | | | | On one hand I agree that here in the UK there's hardly anyone who can say they need to drive the 4x4s they do. It's a social statement to take the kids to school in their own minibus.
I also agree that such vehicles are more at home in the US. But what I didn't appreciate until I actually went there, is the sheer size of the hulking monstrosities there. The average 4x4 in the US could swallow a shed. And that is ridiculous. I walked down the main road of Scottsdale and thought I'd wandered into a convoy! Well, I guess the transporters have caught up with you. Can't imagine why they'd charge you that much when the refineries are much closer. We just had some friends from Venezuela visit last week. I asked Eliazar how much they paid for gas there, and he said $.37 a gallon. Of course, the whole country is floating on a sea of oil and they have more refinery capacity than they need to service their own use, so it isn't so surprising. | | | John

I bought it because it's easier to climb UP into the seat than it was to scoot DOWN into the seat of my Chevy Cavalier.
