Released: 13.10.2005

Anamorphic 2.35:1

BTW: Many German DVDs haven't a German Sub either...

They actually showed Schultze gets the Blues on last years fall Hawaii International Filmfest.  There are always tons of Asian movies, and a pretty good selection so something for everyone, I wish they would show more german movies though.  Have been there the past 4 years now and they only showed 3, maybe 4.
Which Das Boot is the ultimate uncut version now?
I bought the R1 Director's Cut with 203 Minutes, but I saw a Version which stated is the original TV length Version and comes in 293 Minutes.  Are the extra scenes incorporated into the movie or only watchable as Extras ?
Was tun wenn's brennt sound great.

Basta - Rotwein oder tot sein is the complete title, yes.

I can relate to passing "7 Zwerge", especially if you're not into Otto's kind of humor.

AFAIK, there's no complete Edgar Wallace set, but you'll surely love "Der Wixxer" 1 & 2 if you know those old gems...

Das Boot is complete only in the TV-Version. That is the format it was originally produced for. It was also shown in thaters, in a cut version and then released in a longer than theater DC version on DVD. To get the whole deal, pick up the TV-Series Edition, sells for approx. 10,00 €.

Dittsche is kind of hard to describe, it's not improv, but staged, just a handful of characters, all taking place in a greasy snack bar, supposedly casting a glance at "real life". To tell the truth, if that were my life, I'd kill myself. IMO it's not that good or funny at all, more servicing those with a "special" kind of taste regarding comedy...

IIRC, you're interested in Metal music? If so, there might be a chance to go see a couple of gigs while you're here.

Dittsche is usually broadcast live on sunday evenings. It's staged in the sense that the 3 main characters are actors. The planned main topics of the discussions are only known to Olli Dittrich (Dittsche) the rest is improv. It's a recollection of last weeks events from Dittsche's strange point of view.

Ahh, great! Thanks for clearing that one... might keep an eye out to get the TV Version then.

hmmm... might give it a try

I really hope to be able to see some shows, at the very least one! I have been starved going to good concerts! We barely get anything here.  I think the last good one was more than a year ago when Testament made their way over here.  Mostlikely its too expensive for bands to just come play here, if it doesnt bring at least 10000 people to the stadium or so (ie. Chilli Peppers, Rolling Stones, The Who) we need to be lucky and wait for some bands to play in Japan and have a layover on the way back to the US Mainland, to get a show out of it.  Some local "metal" bands are not too bad, but I want something new already!
