The contribution rule committee would like to wrap up the rules for TV series. What seems to be missing is a poll about a standard for episode dividers, so here it is.

Of course, it is impossible to use every conceivable format in this poll, so I decided to include only a selection of formats that are already in use in profiles or have been suggested in the discussion thread.

I prefer 'Episode Name' with no number.

The numbers are already listed in the Overview, so putting them here is redundant, AND it is using up characters in a limited size field unnecessarily.

I agree with hal9g

"I prefer 'Episode Name' with no number."

Usually they are listed in either the overview or the actual DVD case/packaging, Sometimes with #'s before the episode name, so I see no need to take up space in the actual divider with the number. Space is limited as it is now, there are some episode names that won't fit in the divider now, so including the number takes away from that.

I also prefer a short format but would still like to see episode numbers used. That's why I'm voting for '1. Episode Name'.

Besides, it would be the same format as for the 'simple list of episodes' in the overview (this has already been decided) - which makes sense IMHO.

I also voted to keep it the same as the simple list of episodes.

There was already a poll about this:
http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=63304&PageNum=1

And the preference seems to indicate:

01: Episode Name

Or, if we change seperator:
01 - Episode Name

I see, but what seemed to be the favorites from the discussion thread I linked to (and in the rules committee), weren't even included in this poll. So I think it's OK to have a new and final poll about this topic.

Besides, the old poll was created when the dividers were completely new. Now users have seen what cast&crew lists really look like with them (there are a lot of various formats currently in use, so you should have seen quite some different styles) and maybe have a different opinion (that would be my guess).

I prefer the same as the simple episode list, just makes it faster and easier to find when looking for a certain epiosde.

1. Episode Name

I have voted for Episode Name no number.

Just to throw petrol (gasoline to you Yanks) on the fire, by having
1. Episode Name
if the same set is released in another region, but with a change in sequence the episode dividers will be of no use, whereas simple episode name would allow for them to be used in any region.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I like x01: Episode Name, especially for collections of episodes that are non-season sets---it tells you at a glance which season it's from.

I like 1. Episode Name

However, is there any way to allow more characters? There are cases the episode name is too long. Either lengthen the name or have a rule of what to place if not all of it can fit (like an elipses ... or something).

Even if the number doesn't need changing, the process of switching around sections of a cast list is convoluted no matter how you do it. Not to mention that copied credits should still be checked against onscreen, as things do vary between markets. If copying credits is done properly, changing the numbers in a handful of dividers is the least problematic part.
