Hi Jim
I'm sorry you’re having problems with this. There are a lot of reports and I haven't tried them all, however I can walk you thru a couple of them, one that works with only the top margin change and one that required more tweaking. First download 56 dvds to a page. Run the report and you’ll see that on the top row of the second  page, only ½  of the image appears, now go to edit reports and change the top margin to 1.5. Rerun the report and you should see 48 dvds on the first page and 56 dvds on every page thereafter. I use the extra space of the first page for my report header. Now download super blend 8 and change the top margin to 1.5 run the report and you’ll  find that on the top row of the  second page only ½  of the image appears. Change the height of the dvd item to 1.7 and rerun the report and you should have 10 dvds on the first page and 12 thereafter. With a little work I’m sure you could get it back to 8, however since I would never use this report I’m not going to work anymore on it. Another work around is to flag only the dvds that would be on the first page, run the report and then print. Then flag only the dvds that would be on the second page run the report and print.
If you have a large collection this would be a pain in the ass, therefore  tweaking the reports  is the better way to go. I have tried several reports and have been able to get each one to work. Once  again I hope this helps.

Good news. I’ve figure this out. Forget what I said above about  super blend 8. I can now tell you how to fix every report that you would like to sort by rows instead of columns. The  problem is  the report software is  trying to print in the top margin. Since  the top margin is smaller then the  dvd item in all the reports, all you get is the bottom portion.  I don’t know how to write software  but it seems like they forgot a line that says “don’t print in the top margin”.
The way to fix each report is to make the top margin equal to the height of the dvd item.
I have tried seven different reports and each one works. You do lose one row on the first page but again you can use this area for a  report header..
Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

Normally my replies are more expansive but I just wanted to notify you (and others interested) that I tried your suggestion and determined it wasn't a cure-all.

I've been flagging the appropriate number of profiles to fill each page, as you suggested, and probably will continue to do this unless the problem is corrected.

I hope your observations are a clue to solving the problem but judging by the few postings regarding this it seems that most people are ambivalent about this or prefer the column/row arrangement.

Jim
