And leaving off from back cover is useful how. Yes old hands like you and I know. But what about the neophyte who kid just learning from your example. Then we get people making the kind of comments found in  this thread and others. If you are not going to clearly communicate through your notes then don't contribute. I am sure you recall the kind of detail which was included into notes and would be still had a certain subset of users not taken all the joy out of it for me. My notes were detailed and anyone viewing those notes today should find them useful, changed were explained and documented/justified

Skip - you really should stop telling people how perfect you and your contributions were.

Not only do you no longer contribute, when you did they were filled with just as many mistakes as any other contributor.

The  only difference is most people admit to being flawed and take responsibility for their words and actions.

Is it the reason why you used imdb in place of the film credit in the past?

Jimmy

You are simply as I'll informed and  offensive as some others. This has been explained innumerable times, once recently, I'll not do it again. A certain four star likes to repeat this out and out lie  yes I said it. No further come.t needs to be made relative to the likes of users such as yourself

Your self righteous attitude grows old.  Gerri has said to describe image improvements, yet you continue to use a nothing sentence, that described nothing. Throwing red arrows again

I didn't think a screen grab was necessary for the Love, Cheat and Steal Alfred Hitchcock, since the director Alfred Hitchcock died 13 years before this movie came out.

It isn't. Terry just act strangely for God knows why...

Unless they used the Hitchcock corpse in the movie any reasonable person understand it isn't the same actor. Anyway why would you lied on this as you are usually reliable on your profiling works...

I have no idea why is he behaving like this since in my opinion this is quite clear case.

Apparantly thete are two Alfred Hitchcock.. the big one we all know died in1976..  but the other one that is forcing a BY on the one we all know and admire his work as both a director and partime actor,.. my notes about the 'other one' is the one I was addressing....

So to repeat.. show me screen grabs of the other A. Hitchcock..

Once again the self styled attack goons are at work. Time for mods to do their job again. This nonsense of allowing certain users  to make whatever absurd and insulting remarks they want while going unpunished has to end

I make mistakes - honest mistakes - and when I do I fix them. Do you?

Or, do you respond by lashing out at those who dare question or disagree with you?

I notice that once again you refuse to answer or respond to a previous post of mine that illustrates why I find this comment to be so hypocritical.

This I'd rich. Do now you are suggesting that let's comments are invalid unless he codifies them in the rules? That's convenient

Can we have that in English, please?

I assume you meant Ken's comments?
Changing/clarifying the rules by commenting in the forum is rather like amending the law by putting up a notice on the bulletin board in City Hall.

Indeed I did Gunnar. I agree with what you say. But we  do have users that constantly refer to his comments and that they will follow such guidance. Now we have someone seeming to say  only when it suits him are kens comments valid.

Let's be clear then -  you consider that Ken's comments regarding the use of 3D is not valid?

http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=585852&PageNum=3&messageID=1697026#M1697026

Or, is it only valid because it suits you?

Your comments to Gunner makes it sound as though people who take invelos comments in the forums do so only when it suits them.

Once again - please answer my question. Yes or no: Do you consider Ken's clarifications in the forums valid or not?

There are a few other things that I would like you to address Skip and then I'm done with you.

You are constantly stating that you feel people, including me, are attacking you. I have asked you countless times to quote me so that I know exactly where I have done so.

Since, despite my numerous requests to quote me so that I know what I've said or done attacking you, I can only assume you can not find any.

Once again I request the community to read both your forum posts and mine. I have read them many times and I don't see where I have ever attacked you.

Most of your most disrespectful comments were so bad they were removed by the moderators but one only needs to go through your forum posts to see exactly how you treat others.

Of course that is not necessary, let's use just this thread for an example. Skip, I will post what I consider to be an attack by quoting two of your posts.

Please show me exactly what I have posted or said that you consider to be an attack on you.

Which brings me to my final question. Why are you continually bringing up the point about my having 4 stars? I have no idea why you find this to be either relevant or important.

You continually throw them in my face. Why? I have nothing to do with them since it is the community who decides which posts receive a green arrow.

If they are important to you and you want one I suggest that you make your forum posts respectful and helpful. I don't think calling people "goons" or telling them their opinions are "garbage" are the way to earn one.

I don't know about Skip, but to be honest, clarifications within the forums are sometimes difficult to deal with.  I do not mean the clarifications themselves, but there actual location.

Even for experienced users, they sometimes become difficult to manage, remember, and or reference when voting or contributing.

I would imagine, that for a new user, it could be very frustrating for contributing, when people start pointing to particular threads/posts, which if you actually tried to search for them would be difficult to find.

I try, and I emphasize "try", to follow all the clarifications that I know about (heaven forbid the ones that I forgot or never new).

When Ken makes a clarification and or adjustment to an existing rule, he really needs to  post it in an addendum type area, until a proper rule can be inserted.  That way we can always point to or reference the "RULES".  This really has been a weak point with Ken.  Maybe this needs to be handed off to a select group of people to make these changes (IF KEN WOULD RELEASE THAT CONTROL).

Why?  As I understand it, huskersports got the cast...which includes the other A. Hitchcock...from the end credits of a film.  We don't require screen grabs for other actors that share a name, why this one?

I agree that this area needs to be looked at and adjustments made. But, for now we can only use what we have available.

I try to use the terms "rules" vs. "clarifications" in my contributions since Ken's posts might not be considered to be "rules" because of the points you bring up.

But, I believe that Ken's clarifications are valid and when applicable should be documented in the contribution notes.

I don't wish to point fingers or insult. But it is exactly this attitude of accepting or making skip shod while hiding behind something Ken , the data is accurate screw the notes or whatever.

I don't believe I ever said "the data is accurate, screw the notes."  In fact, I don't believe I saw anybody say that.  What I am seeing is people saying that the data is more important than the notes...which is a point I happen to agree with.  You don't, and that is fine, but you can't force people, no matter how hard you try, to share your opinion.

And, for the record, when I contribute, my notes explain exactly what I have done, why I did it and where I got the information.  I wish every user did the same, as it would make things much easier but, unfortunately, they don't.  Since I care about the data, not the notes, I don't worry about it anymore.

I agree with you while heartedly and I know the quality of your notes is among the very best. I watch, lol. I font put importance priority on either notes or data, two function in tandem. One without the other is no good. In ample terms.

I am not blocking Kathy, I am ignoring her comments, they are just increasingly bizarre and insulting, not worthy of a response

1. I was not offensive at all in my post as it was a neutral question, so stop playing the victim as you are one only in your imagination in this case.

2. The fact you used imdb in your past contributions was well documented (you should be pleased as you are a big fan of documentation) here in the past. Everybody who read this forum know you did it for some of your contributions (note that I write some of them and not all of them) and the informations given were more than enough for me.

3. When someone play the "God of the database" role he must expect that his past betrayal will be put in front of him. Yes I find that lying in a contribution note is way worse than not documenting a birth date in the note when this date is documented in the forum already.

Guys....seriously....the point of this thread has been made.  Please stop insulting each other.  No more replies (not even to this post). Mods, let's close this thread.
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!
