Title: A Fish Called Wanda

My Thoughts:
This is one I never seen before. Going into this one I was a little worried my expectations would be too high as I have always heard this is such a good movie. But thankfully I kept my expectations under control. I ended up enjoying this one quite a bit. It has some good laughs in it... and the entire cast did a great job. I especially enjoyed Jamie Lee Curtis and Michael Palin. This is one I would recommend anytime you are in the mood for just fun movie. And I want to thank all of you that recommended me to watch this one.

I love this movie...it's hilarious .

The cast of this film were reunited in another film called "Fierce Creatures". It's also very funny. You might want to check it out

Extras:

My Thoughts:
This is one of my all time favorite horror movies. As with most of the Stephen King movies... Stephen King himself has a cameo in the movie. This time as the preacher at the funeral for Mrs. Dandridge... the woman that helped the creed family in the beginning of the movie. This movie is one of the few movies that can make me cringe when watching it. actually from 2 things in the movie. First when Jud gets the back of his ankle sliced... the next when he is sliced across both cheeks when he is screaming. Both those look extremely painful to me. I couldn't even imagine. Not to mention.. this is a true horror movie for any parent. It even effected me... I had a time watching this movie when my daughter was about Gage's age... especially considering I live on a road that has a high school just down the street... you would not believe the way kids race up and down this road! There for the longest time I wouldn't even let my daughter play in the front yard at all! Anyway... This is just an awesome horror movie! So I definitely highly recommend it if by chance you never seen it before.

Title: Arachnophobia
Year: 1990
Director: Frank Marshall
Rating: PG-13
Length: 109 Min.
Video: Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1
Subtitles: English

Stars:
Jeff Daniels
Harley Jane Kozak
John Goodman (1952)
Julian Sands
Stuart Pankin
Brian McNamara

Plot:
Hollywood Pictures and Amblin Entertainment deliver an electrifying big-screen rollercoaster ride of a movie! Everyone is afraid of something…for Dr. Ross Jennings, his phobia is downright embarrassing. But when he moves his family to a small town, the one thing that bugs him most is now harming the townspeople at an alarming rate. For this unlikely hero, overcoming a childhood fear of spiders might just save the community, but it may already be too late! Directed by Frank Marshall (Executive Producer – Back To The Future, Producer – Raiders Of The Lost Ark) and also starring John Goodman, this critically acclaimed, breathtaking hit entertains with its terrific mix of thrills, chills and laughter!

Extras:
Scene Access
Feature Trailers
Featurettes
Closed Captioned

My Thoughts:
This is an enjoyable movie... but one I can only watch but so often... because of my own bad case of arachnophobia. Watching this movie (or any involving spiders) makes my skin crawl.  This movie has a couple faces I am familiar with. First we see Julian Sands... who I know from the first couple Warlock movies. Then for comic relief we have John Goodman who was Dan on Roseanne. I wouldn't say this is the best horror movie I ever seen... probably not even the best movie about spiders. But I do enjoy it... I would say it is an above average movie.

Title: The People Under the Stairs
Year: 1991
Director: Wes Craven
Rating: R
Length: 102 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Mono
Subtitles: English, French, Spanish

Stars:
Brandon Adams
Everett McGill
Wendy Robie
A. J. Langer
Ving Rhames
Sean Whalen

Plot:
Wes Craven, the director of The Serpent and the Rainbow and Shocker, locks you inside the most terrifying house on the street. Trapped inside a fortified home owned by a mysterious couple, a young boy is suddenly thrust into a nightmare.

The boy quickly learns the true nature of the house's homicidal inhabitants and the secret creatures hidden deep within the house.

Stunning visuals highlight this inventive film that the San Francisco Chronicle calls, "Wes Craven's most satisfying movie."

Extras:
Scene Access

My Thoughts:
This is the first time I watched this movie in quite a while... a good 7 years according to DVD Profiler.  This is a bit of a weird movie, I grant you... but it is one that I enjoyed quite a bit. The couple in this movie is so over the top it isn't even funny. But it is entertaining to say the least. I really liked the kid that played the 13yr old boy nicknamed Fool that takes on this strange and sadistic couple to save his family... and then going back to save the other kids he met that the couple has trapped in the house. This is not what I would call a gory movie... but some of the things seen here is a bit on the bloody side. Not to mention things a little hard to look at... like "Daddy" in full leather fetish gear trying to hunt down Fool. Over-all it is a movie I enjoyed quite a bit. Glad I finally got around to watching it again.

I'm a little late on this but I'm glad you watched Goonies. One of my favorite movies; I watch it every year on Halloween. I couldn't tell you the last time I didn't...probably over 15 years ago. Did you watch any of the bonus stuff? I love the deleted scenes and have to watch the music video which I think is one of the best "story" telling videos out there. (I know, I know, you're not a music person, but I think you'd enjoy it even if you turned off the sound...they go out of their way to make it a 10 minute or so action/adventure story with Cindy Lauper and the Goonies.)

Oh you do! They show the octopus scene which is an interesting one. And if you ever have time, watch the commentary. Not the best but I found out a lot about the movie.

Did you know that the kids never saw the ship before they slid down the tubes that we see in the movie? The director wanted honest reactions, so he made sure they didn't see it before and got the first viewing on film.

Yeah, I'm gushing, but it's one of my favorite movies. I'd say, that with only two or three others (Dirty Dancing, Princess Bride, Wizard of Oz) competing, it's the movie I've watched most in my life.

Title: Pet Sematary 2
Year: 1992
Director: Mary lambert
Rating: R
Length: 100 Min.

Stars:

Sometimes dead is better. But the shocking terror that plagued Ludlow, Maine in Pet Sematary is still very much alive in this heart-stopping sequel to the 1989 hit film written by Stephen King.

Antagonized by the neighborhood kids, Jeff befriends another outsider, Drew Gilbert, who lives in fear of his cruel stephfather Gus (Clancy Brown, "Highlander"). After Gus cold-bloodely shoots Drew's beloved dog, the boys bury the body in the local Indian burial grounds - a place rumored to have powers of resurrection. When evil is awakened, the boys realize that sometimes you should just let dead dogs lie.

Extras:
Scene Access

My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this movie... but not nearly as much as the first one. I would say... that in my opinion this one is just an average horror movie. Worth the time putting into it... but not something I would recommend seeking out. Maybe grab it if you find it in a bargain bin type thing. I did like that this one has Anthony Edwards... who I used to watch all the time on the TV Series ER.

For my money Dazed and Confused is the best of those 1993 films.  Mostly cause i felt like i knew all those guys from high school.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!
