There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

I see that IMDb (to which you link above) classifies ADR as "Miscellaneous Crew".

Ha! Let's see how willing to embrace IMDb's outlook on things Skip suddenly is going to be in a few moments. Usually, this would push him towards the exact opposite view, but I'm pretty sure this occasion will be the exception...

I never called them Miscellaneous Crew and i disgarree with IMDb, they are almost ALWAYS part of the Sound Dept.

I checked some other sites, choosing Robert Clotworthy for my search:

TCM: Lists his ADR/Loop credits under Sound or Post-Production, separate from his Cast credits.
Allmovie.com: Lists his ADR/Loop credits under Production Credits, separate from his Cast credits.
BFI: No specific credits, but shows that he has 19 Cast credits and 14 Sound credits.
Yahoo Movies: Lists his ADR/Loop credits under Sound or Other, separate from his Cast credits.

That's because ADR work is a crew function...post production....and not a cast function.

The people who dubbed the audio are crew, not the ones who provided the voices.

Martin:

Just for the record, have you looked at the poll results. The majority appear to agree they are CREW by a rather huge margin.

I think Astrakan has explained this better than I would.

I know this debate is a little aged, but never saw a resolution.

A contributor is trying to add Loop Group to a cast list, under its own divider.

I assume at this point, it is a no-no, is this correct?

Ken's statement here suggests that there is no real reason to exclude them, although you may argue that "loop group" does not equal "additional voices".

Actually, he was talking about a specific situation that occurs in many animated films...main actors listed, followed by a header or group credit of Additional Voices.  I don't believe this can be extended to include the Loop Group.  Just my opinion.

I would vote against it as well.  A loop group does not equal the additional voices credit in animated films.

Invelos has made a stand against the majority of the users (20:64 poll result):

Additional Dialogue Replacement voices are Cast. No role needed. No matter where in the credits. A sad day.

Expect a lot of Cast "corrections" from the usual suspects.
Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. [Ken Cole, DVD Profiler Architect]
