| Posted: | | | | Quoting Assassin: Quote: Importing to MyMovies worked fine for me but unfortunately none of my profiles with disc id (child profiles without UPC) were recognized, and there are a lot... We will work on a better way to identify that - when the parent profile is added, it adds also the child titles in our service, and therefore child titles should be ignored, and not listed as failed. We have found that DVD Profiler and My Movies uses different id types for Blu-ray and 4K titles, and therefore only DVD profiles with disc ids (no barcode) can be imported. The ids in DVD Profiler looks like a CRC64 id, but that is a Windows thing, and Windows does not support these for Blu-ray. |

We have updated it so that it lists this in a better way. Overall, box sets will be added from our service based on the parent title, and though that all child titles is added, while child titles in your collection is skipped. This means that if a box set in DVD Profiler has child titles, but does not in our service, they do not get added, similar to how, if a box set in our service has child titles, but it does not in DVD Profiler, the child titles from our service is added. Then we have also updated so that failed titles give more informative messages - examples we have seen is invalid barcodes (that are not 12 or 13 digit UPC or EAN codes), and manually added titles, which we at this time cannot import. |

How do you access these discounts? The importer will create the grace period for the iOS and Android apps when you run the import - if you open the free version of the apps, it then offers an in-app purchase at half price. This is only something we technically have options for on iOS and Android. |

This is only something we technically have options for on iOS and Android. I reimported my collection but I have received no prompt in the iOS App, and it looks like I can still only sync 50 items. |

| Posted: | | | | I have also downloaded My Movies on my laptop yesterday and IOS phone today so far no problems everything is working fine. It took some time to import my collection on windows but I am satisfied. I hated to do it after 10 years of using Profiler but I also have a feeling that Profiler will not be around much longer and don't want to be caught with my pants down so to speak. For now, I will run both. |

Even hyenas wait after the funeral before they start shredding the corpse. I agree. It's bad form, irrespective of what the future holds here. My Movies has their own website and forums. These discussions back and forth with respects to migrating from DVD Profiler to My Movies can be discussed there. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection |

--------------- That might be but Ken only has himself to blame. I've had a query in the support forum for over a year and I am still waiting. The lack of active support or comments from the powers that be is unprofessional and I don't blame members from discussing invelos' demise and looking for another program. |

I was looking at my support tickets the other day and mine go back almost 2 years (Nov 2017). That was about the time my support requests stopped being answered. |

The lack of active support or comments from the powers that be is unprofessional True, but that doesn't mean that other vendors should behave unprofessionally. --------------- |

| Posted: | | | | Granted, this is not the place to provide the support, but I do not think it is fair to say it is unprofessional to inform that we have an alternative, should users make their own decisions on the situation.
It is quite fair that there are some time between software updates and bug fixes, but before I posted I also did check that information here was that users did not receive responses on support, ect. However, question is how long you can live with something where there is no life sign - no response to support inquiries or anything. Ken is know for not showing for a long time, but if this, which I certainly hope not is due to other events than Ken just again choosing to stay away from his project, someone around him know that this project exists, and could update everyone on a status.
So, question is - is it professional to not give anyone just a simple status of things after this long? Is it professional that support inquiries are not responded to? Can you live with perhaps loosing access to your user account because of some events and you are unable to get help? Can you live with something potentially breaking down with any new iOS or Android update, and you have no way of knowing what to expect? Is that professional?
Posting on our forums does not let DVD Profilers know that we have an alternative, and are willing to try to do what we can to improve on importing and whatever else we can do to help DVD Profiler users with an alternative, should they by themselves choose that this have come to a situation they cannot live with. DVD Profiler users are naturally not on our forums.
But agreed, as we also have requested in several replies, users should contact support@mymovies.dk, or post on our forums if they have questions around these options.
But hey, me posting here perhaps could get the cat out of the bag, which would likely be the most positive for users here.
How DVD Profiler users choose to see this is up to the individual user. |
