It depends on which box set we have:
Real Box sets (without cast/crew) should not have a genre.
Technical box sets (e.g. 3D/BD/DVD combos) contain a complete profile. Therefore they need all information including genre.

The correct answer.

Not according to the way the rules are written. As rules are written all box sets gets the genres. And seems that Invelos screeners agree... as the contribution in question was declined even though there was 9 yes votes and only 3 no votes.

I find it interesting that the majority of voters feel the Box Sets' genre field should, like most other data, be left blank.

21:22 is not.

Again, the poll is meaningless when the question is so ambigous.

If the question is ambiguous, I'm talking about actual box set profiles with no cast, etc, not a movie profile that has children because of other formats or bonus feature films.

It seems like what most people don't understand is how to vote...are you asking what is correct per rules as they are written or how would you prefer the rules.

Real or actual box sets contain actual content, or discs, so they should include all pertinent data in the box set profile.

Yes, that's what I meant by ambigous (which I also explained in an earlier post).

Well, this is the contribution discussion forum, not the rules change forum, so I meant what you think is correct under the current rules.

While that might be true... that is not how this forum has always been used. People all the time bring up ideas for rules changes here since not everyone has access to the rules committee forum.

So when making a poll you really need to be 100% clear that you mean what is correct under the current rules. Or if you mean how you would prefer the rules to be.

Genres for boxsets don't annoy me  it is the Year field..  some box sets of i.e. 5 movies may have a decade or two between the titles and yet Invelos , by the rules, have to pick the earliest year .. to me  the year should be the year the set was released as a 'boxset' ..
