This can happen Hal.    But if this comes more often, you should think about your further lifestyle.

Or not!

I still think each title is unique unto itself. Inlooking at both blade runner and Alien, I very clearly a title NOT an edition. Blade Runner: The Director's Cur and Alien: The Director's Cut. But there could also be titles which would probably Director's Cut (minus The) as part of edition.

To me this, "sometimes an edition and sometimes not," just needlessly complicates things.  Why not just have it so that every 'Cut', 'Collection', 'Edition', etc. is placed in the edition field?  Makes for easy data entry at the expense of nothing.

As for why 'The Final Cut' first...it just makes more sense, to me at least, to put the descriptor, that is under the title first as it is usually more informative.

Same here: consistency is what we need more than anything else.

I still think this is a description for a version and a version is Imho a Edition.
But I know the speakers for "part of the title" can discuss endless on this.
As I don't know how to explain it better than I've done in this thread, I can do nothing more and hope some will understand it.

Agree, but how can we have consistence when there's a option in the Edition field for Directors Cut, but some still say if it's "The Director's Cut", it belongs to the Title?

I'm still of the opinion that the edition field is for editions of the DVD, not editions of the movie.

I don't believe "The Final Cut" is an edition either, but it is a "distinguishing factor" and thus by rule should be put in the edition field.

The question then is, if you include both an edition and a distinguishing factor, which takes precedence?

We can't, which is why Invelos should just pick a consistent position and remove 'personal opinion' from the equation.

A new question.  I'm in again.

Imho the for example in this case, I would take Final Cut first followed by Two Disc Special Edition. Because the version of the movie is imho more important than the version of the DVD.

I understand. You know I am  not crazy about it either as it relates to the Online. I HATE conditionals, generically.

My personal opinion is that unless it appears in either the title credits or credit block it should be considered as an edition.

[...] I am not sure what I was looking at, but, I could have sworn I saw an image without the word "The" in it.

I really need to quit taking those drugs!

I am sorry for the confusion. It is rooted in the varying editions in different countries. My German edition has just "Final Cut" printed on the cover. As I can see now, in the English language world it is called "The Final Cut" everywhere. Only the (Warner-)Gods will know why the German edition had to go without the "The". So - sorry again - it was my mistake.
