Maybe it's because someone is tired of your continous nagging ... I know I am ...

I can easily understand that you do not like my opinion... But my average post number is about two per day, and I do not think I nag more than some other users who always say the same thing.

I suggest you to use a nice feature of this forum. You block me and you'll never see my nagging anymore. I tested it on some users and it really works fine. Red arrows are no use for you since I really do not mind at all. For your information, I took hundreds, and my reputation is still normal, and even if it was lowered, I would still say what I think is good for this program.

Dvdprofiler is, as I already wrote, by far the best program to catalog movies on DVDs or blu-rays. Unfortunately, the online part is obviously not at the same level, and I'm not alone to say that...

You might not be alone in feeling that, but you certainly are alone in bringing it up in each and every god damn post you make!

I will not block any forum posters, as I do not believe in censorship. I would rather confront someone I disagree with... And I did not ask for information about how many negative feedbacks you've gotten, but if you are serious in your statement about it being in the hundreds (seeing as you have 700+ posts), then maybe you should take a hint and start moderating your negative attitude.

The topic of this thread made me wonder...is this why it seems there are so few new additions or updates to profiles now?
I have a few Doctor Who discs that i put up a scan, but no one has taken on the task of cast or crew. Same with the new Dirty Harry single disc releases. They went weeks before i submited a only halfway acceptable cover scan, but MANY weeks, or months later, no updates to cast or crew. By the way, i have done my own profiles to 3 Dirty Harry films, and about 4 Doctor Who titles. But i wont submit them because i cant prove (for instance) Tom Baker is the Doctor, or Doctor Who, as the case may be.

I myself dont want to take the time only to get a rejection OF THE WHOLE THING!

Just wondering.

Ricker: All you have to do is follow the Rules, and make sure your notes actually communicate, remember your notes are speaking to 500,000+ users. Bad data is bad data and should not be allowed, don't try and hide behind it's bad data because it's your preference (thebn don't submit that piece of data), the screeners do not have the ability to selectively accept or reject, it's all or nothing but the user DOES have the ability to select what parts of data  within categories he wants to Contribute and as long as that data, whether it is simply Cast, Overview or whatever or the entire Disc follows the Rules then you should have no problem. We work as a team, and it doesn't help when one team member says well i am gong this way and if you don't like it you fix it. Just follow the Rules.

I said that one year ago, taking the example of France where we have few contributors. If this is also true in US, that means that what I feared is happening : rules are killing contributions, and are even a great danger for the program itself, as most of thousands potential users will prefer a database with complete profiles even if they do not match exactly the end credits, than empty ones where we only find typos (in bold and italic  ...) of overviews.

Once again, surfeur you step up to repeat ad nauseum and try to undermine both the Rules and the program. we all know your views, don't try and confuse a relative newcomer with your bile, please. As long as he does as i suggested he should have no problems, if you don't wish to Contribute for your reasons, fine, we are all free to do as we wish in that regard. But if a user wishes to Contribute then he follows the Rules...very simple.

We all know that the accuracy you are interested in is YOUR definition, not what Profiler uses. We also know that you really want NO RULES at all, just put in whatever garbage you can dig up.

But Berak, you don't understand.  Surfeur is the one who is correct and EVERYBODY ELSE is wrong.  All those hundreds of negative feedback he's gotten are because people don't like him, not because his attitude is in any way to blame.

How rude it is for people to get tired of his incessant whining about why the rules are bad and criticize him for whining.

One of the reasons why submissions have slowed down is that there is a new beta of the program out for testing, but you can't contribute from there yet, so some people are waiting until you can.

Also, what hasn't been made clear in this discussion is that once a profile has been created, you do get a choice about which changes you submit: you get a screen listing all your changes and tickboxes for each section, you simply tick the boxes you want to submit. Only on new profiles are all changes submitted. That's why when I create profiles I only add the minimum of information before submitting, and leave all the "meaty stuff" for a later contribution.

And finally, it's The Doctor

I've made the complete profile for the 5 individual releases, but I don't want to see my profiles not approved because of some credited as name (exemple Andrew Robinson credited as Andy Robinson). So I prefer to keep them to myself and keep my contribution record clean (only one not approve on 295). Sure the rules are a pain in the ass, but like Skip say often we must keep the database clean

Be a good dog.... You got another green arrow, but I have only five per day, and must keep some for  useful users, that do not repeat always the same thing :
whining...  whining...., whining....  whining...

you'll feel better when you stop your own whining about my whining....

whining...  whining...., whining....  whining...
