not surprising, that you would be unwilling to include a simple statement, something like this the existing data is correct as credited invelos system is making the cap mod.

Could you please please stop this constant bitching? Please, be so kind.

This is funny, Kulju. You are talking to the wrong person. I didn't go on the offensive. I asked a simple question and got the usual

And neither did Kathy in this thread. She just told you that she doesn't want to communicate with you, even emphasized that by blocking you, yet you won't stop nagging.
How much more obvious should she tell you?

In my opinion Ken should change the voting comparison window so that it wouldn't show capitalization differences. Next problem...

Lol, terry. I will say that  never in my wildest imaginings did I think asking almonds to add a dimples sentence to her notes would raise such controversy, let alone have me get attacked, insulted and villified for asking, it says far more than I am willing to go into

It would appear that Capital(ization) crime definition and punishment is somewhat different from state to state and country to country.

I was talking about capitalization...you are talking about parsing.

No, I was not talking about parsing. Granted, I made a typo (original post is now corrected), but I was obviously talking about capitalization. I repeat: the online profile always uses the capitalization from the local database of the last person to contribute to that particular cast or crew list. Any contribution that includes a capitalization change WILL change the online profile. That change won't affect anyone's local profiles when the update comes down, but the online profile WILL be changed every time someone submits a cast or crew list with a differently capitalized name in it.

If this is the case, should we go ahead and document the change?  The people with the existing profile then can make a decision, and anybody who downloads anew, would get the latest capitalization correction.

with Ken's statement you wouldn't be able to vote no for just changing the capitalization of a name without any type of documentation. That was the whole point of Ken's clarification. People were voting no when they saw a change in capitalization and no notes on it.

If people know the version in their local is the correct version they can say so in notes  with documentation... but can't force people to document any change to capitalization.

Besides that... even if it is documented the next update could still change it back completely allowed per rules and Ken's clarification. So it can't be voted no to. Ken himself said that there will be ping-ponging here... but basically it amounts to nothing... so it is free to happen.

So with Ken's stance on this subject it really don't amount to anything to document it anyway.

You have said exactly what I am feeling.

I take care that my contributions and their documentation are thorough and honest yet concise.

In this particular case, after much discussion and research, I have come to the conclusion that documentation is not needed for the reasons you have listed.

So from now on, or until Ken weighs in on the matter, I will continue to contribute according to my understanding of invelos rules and guidelines regarding capitalization.
