Thanks.
I'm assuming the smaller packages inside are digipaks. I can't tell whether or not they have slip covers or not. But that's what the child profiles would get if that's what they are.
I would also give the parent profile "custom" as the box seems too heavy duty to be classed simply as a slip case. I would not tick slip cover for the parent profile unless there is some other cover not shown that goes around the entire box.

Can we update the first post with some examples of Hd Keep case, HD slim, and THINpack?

Thanks

I'll do this later if no-one else does; it definitely needs doing, as someone has incorrectly tried to change the Region A Blade Runner BD case from HD Slim to HD Keep, and dozens of people have voted in favour. I don't think HD Keeps are used at all in the US. This is why I complained about the splitting of HD case types in the first place, the term "slim" was bound to be misunderstood. Just because it's not physically "slim", doesn't mean it's a different classification of case.

Dan W has stated in the past he won't update the first post anymore.
The HD cases are on page 3. I can't think of any other way of doing it unless you PM one of the users on the first page to see if they're willing to edit their posts to include them.

True, but the pictures on page 3 don't include multi-disc slims, such as the US releases of Blade Runner, Planet Earth, Smallville and Prison Break (HD and BD), which seem to be a matter of confusion.

If Dan isn't going to update what is supposed to be a reference thread, perhaps someone else, who is willing, can create a new one.

I would, but I don't have enough of a 'case' variety to produce all the images.

Dan,

Don't you think it's time to add HD cases to the OP?

What is the difference between an HD slim and an HD Keepcase?

What case type is Smallville Season 7 (Blu ray)?

The HD Slim option is used for cases which are thinner than a regular DVD keep case (the majority of US Releases use these) whereas a HD Keep case (more prevalent in European releases) is the same thickness as regular keep cases.

Check out Northbloke's post for further info.

This thread will explain a bit how the HD Slim/HD Keepcase distinction came about:

http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=196374&PageNum=1

It looks like Viva has released a thinpak blu-ray variant for its Elite cases. Since HD Slim is already taken for regular blu-ray cases, maybe it's time for an HD thinpak option.

Dan will not be adding any new case types.  As I recall, he disagreed with a decision Ken made and decided to let us fend for ourselves.  At the bottom of page 3, he says:

The case for the new Bond 007 Blu-ray sets volume 1 and 2.

Some people seem to want to call them digipak but there is no plastic tray. It's a cardboard "book" and in the centre of each cardboard page is a foam rubber "button" that holds the disc.

The complete package is made up of the cardboard Book with two "pages" and three discs (one movie each). The book is inside a box (open one side) and that is in a clear slip cover (open top and bottom).

It's not a digipak but what do you call it?
Tom.

Looking at the available options, I think only Custom fits. I don't like it because I think it should only be used for the odd boxes like the Planet of the Apes head but none of the other choices seem appropriate.

I've got a disc that came in a "clamshell" case, but it's not the case type pictured in this thread with the name clamshell, it looks like this:

I profiled it, selecting "Other" (or was it blank).  Is that the correct choice?

I scanned the printed disc, since that is what shows through the plastic of the front of the cover.  Same question.

Thanks.

I personally have never seen an official release come in one of those style cases & the actual disc showing in the picture looks like a self burned one. If that's the case then it shouldn't be contributed (although you can store it locally).

I've seen that type of case used by post-rental companies.
Is it possible it's an ex-rental or whoever sold it to you had simply lost the original cover?
I agree with the others that it certainly doesn't look like any "official" release.

Edit: although I have to admit I don't think it's self-burned - I've never seen a DVDR that uses gold ink before (assuming we're looking at the underside). However I've seen a number of gold pressed discs.
