| | Posted: | | | | I am now back home after surgery... WHICH WAS 100% SUCCESSFUL! I can now see out of both eyes. It is still a bit blurry and wonky... like seeing double image when looking at computer screen. But it is so much better and so obvious that I do indeed have vision back in my eye!
The operation itself while a bit nerve-wracking... was a very interesting experience at the same time. I was indeed awake the whole though they did have me sedated and numbed. The entire operation was no more then 30 minutes at the most.
Still feeling the effects of the sedation... so think I may take a bit of a nap here shortly. | | | | Pete |

| | Posted: | | | | Thanks everyone... it is a little weird seeing the double image (which I now realize is all the time not just with computer screen)... but I am sure that after years my brain must get used to seeing out of both eyes again.

| | Posted: | | | | Over the next week or so your double vision should lessen until its back to normal. Just make sure to take any medication they gave you like clockwork or you may wake up in extreme pain. |

| | Posted: | | | | Double vision or ghosting can be fairly common, although in some people it may not completely go away. Your brain is used to compensating for the loss of your one eye for quite some time. It takes a bit of time for the brain to adjust to the change. |

| | Posted: | | | | The human brain is amazingly adaptable; it can even do things like correcting an image to the right way up looking through 'upside down optics' after a few days (then when you take off the optics it's so used to it it keeps on doing it so it turns the world upside down until it corrects again!).
