That is my perception.  I believe I'm entitled to that.

Yes, you are entitled to that.
Quote:
And no, I will not go find examples.

I didn't expect that you would as it is far easier to throw out unfounded rhetoric than it is to actually back it up.

You (and Yves) are far more aware of things you have posted than anyone else.  What you do not seem to be aware of is the way some of them are received.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing about you.  Since you don't seem to care, why should I?

The fact that I will not waste my time pointing out specific instances of something to you that you and others (especially Yves) already know to be a fact, does not make it unfounded rhetoric.  It only means that I am too lazy to do it.

Your last remark is simply too infantile to even merit a response.  (Does "No I don't, but you do" ring a bell?).

Please don't presume to tell me what I know to be fact because you haven't got a clue.  What makes it unfounded rhetoric is the fact that it simply isn't true.  In the last month, surfeur has made 200 posts.  Of that 200, I have responded to 17.  One would think, if I made a habit of pointing out a 'gotcha', I would have responded quite a bit more than that.

I am confused.  If it didn't merit a response, why did you respond?

Does "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" ring a bell?  As you don't seem to be aware of, or simply don't care, how some of your posts are percieved, I am betting that it doesn't.

Just because you say it isn't true, doesn't make it so.  I leave it to others to determine that.  Your less than objective view doesn't carry a whole lot of weight.  And, did I say anything about "the last month".  I didn't think so.

Yes, you seem to be easily confused.  Responded and remarking are two different things.

***OFF TOPIC***

<sigh>

Some of the comments the community uses to address each other has really bothered me lately.

It might be that I started a new job 3 months ago that has completely affected the way I look at life.

I accepted a home care assignment with a woman who in her capacity as a police officer was shot in the mouth.

She is now completely paralyzed from the chin down. The only place on her entire body she can feel is her head from the chin up.

She needs help with everything and I literally mean everything. She went from being a Harley riding, body building police officer to a quadriplegic in an instant.

She was an active leader in the community who volunteered at an animal shelter 5 days a week before work for over a decade.

Everything was lost in a split second. And you know what? She doesn't even hold hatred to this "person" that ruined her life. The only negative thing I've heard her say is "I wasn't going to hurt him".

I took life and its journey somewhat cavalier until that day I met this woman 3 months ago. Now, every moment of every day I am grateful to be healthy and self sufficient.

I think that I was always a kind person but I am much more deliberate in my dealings with others. I want to leave a positive impact on everyone I come in contact with.

Please, life is too short. Treat one another with kindness and respect. I know that words typed on a page are easily written. But, some words branded about lately have seemed to me to be deliberately antagonistic and hurtful.

The pleasure I've gotten from these forums is diminishing - I just can't stand it when people treat each other badly.

There is the adage if you don't have something nice to say...don't say it. I wish others would follow this mantra a bit more.

So...back on topic...please, as Karsten suggests "just let it go".

Well said, Kathy, well said. Life is indeed too short to be filled with what amounts to bickering over something so trivial as this. I wish you and the brave Lady you take care of well in this Holiday Season.

I find this comment quite ammusing seeing as you are saying it is true simply because you say so.

No, you simply refused to back up your unfounded rhetoric.  I can go back farther if you like, but the result will still be the same.

I understand what you are saying, Kathy, but a sanctimonious attitude is something that I have a hard time letting go.  And yes, that is my perception but, as was mentioned earlier in this thread, I believe I'm entitled to that.

I am glad that I added some amusement to your day.  I never said it was true simply because I said so.  There is plenty of evidence on these forums of your issues with Yves.  Anyone who has been here for any length of time, or wishes to do their own searching, can verify it.

As I stated earlier, it is my perception, to which you agreed I am entitled.  Very gracious of you, BTW.

Quote:
And yours does?

The point here is that people rarely see themselves objectively and yes, a view from an outside party is often more accurate.  I have no emotional attachment to your issues with Yves.

No, you simply refused to back up your unfounded rhetoric.  I can go back farther if you like, but the result will still be the same.

Once again, they are not unfounded.  The evidence is definitely there for anyone who wants to look for it and admit it for what it is.

I did not respond to your comment.  I simply remarked on it.  Quote all the dictionaries you wish.

This has nothing to do with me, although you have certainly tried to make it about me.  It has to do with the way you react to Yves.  The fact that I may "be just as guilty" does nothing to diminish the point I was making.  It is nothing more than an attempt at diversion.

You seem to be spending an awful lot of time  on this for someone who is not trying to burst my bubble.

I am sorry, hal, but you are wrong...and that is why you can't back up this claim.  A while back, I am thinking at least a year ago, I called a truce with surfeur.  I told him that, while we may never be the best of friends, we could, at the very least, be civil.  Since that day, not only have our exchanges been, for the most part, civil, but I have supported his right to be upset over this particular issue.  Does this mean I won't disagree with him on occasion or point out, what I believe to be an error in one of his posts?  Of course not, and I expect that he will do the same to me.  What it does mean, however, is that your perception, as much as you want it to be, isn't reality and hasn't been for quite some time.

Accept it or don't, but for my part, I am done having this discussion with you.  Once again, my apologies to Kathy...I just couldn't let that one go.
