Absolutely... and it would have never occurred to me to do it any other way.

As you seem to be very interested in these things, let me try to explain how to work with name variants in a complete post. Perhaps it also helps other users. (Might not be complete, so any additions are appreciated)

Add the credits from the movie and never from any other source. (with one exception)

Check for name variants:
- At adding a person to a profile type just a few letters from the first ond the last name, this sometimes shows variants you have in your local database.
- Try a Google search with: name site:invelos.com. On the results, perhaps you find an entry in the "credited as" name database or a common name thread ...
- Try a normal web search for the name. Often imdb has listed some variants.
- Because of the special ruling on accented names: Check also for the variant without accents.
- Also if never tried, there is/was a plugin for finding name variants.
- If you have a clue there could be a different variant, but you're not sure: Make a thread in the forum. (Nice example is this thread)

If found a variant (which includes some kind of proof):
- Try a Google search with: name site:invelos.com to have a look if there is somewhere a common name thread.
- Use the CLT, to find the
most credited form of the variants.
(The number of titles is the more important number)
- If the numbers of titles are similar: check the number manually by counting the different movies.
- If there are many overlaping titles, which are shown on different variants: If you can determine on some the correct credit. If this isn't enough to be sure: Make a common name thread.
-> Add the found variant (with the proof/source) to the "credited as" name database thread. (e.g.)

Add the common name to the profile with (if different) the current movie credit of the person. The actual credit is important to get the correct CLT results.

As help for future I do one thing local:
If I find name variants, I add all variants to your local database and mark the not-common names with a special headshot or a special fake BY.  Also with variants found by others. This helps for further contributions to find out there are variants without doing this much work. (Of course you still have to check if the common name changed)

Quoting ... about Jean Dujardin...
Quote:
The world is a much bigger place then France. I know I never heard of this person... and willing to bet the majority of the world (beyond France) hasn't either.

He may be an unknown to people other then the French... and this is a world wide program.

For those who do not yet know him, they should watch "The Artist", the only 2011 movie that can be understood everywhere in the world without dubbing. Silent and B&W, but nevertheless six nominations for Golden Globes 2012.
