OK. So can ANYONE ELSE, except Kinoniki come with some substantial arguments, regarding this? Or should I call SVT in person?

The "SF" debate is just ridiculous!

Oh so now it's ridiculous just because you say so?

I agree SF Norge would be a valid media company.

No, it's not. You aren't supposed to use suffixes per the rules!
SF is still short for Svensk Filmindustri.

Yes SF is short for Svensk Filmindustri. The Norwegian branch is called SF Norge. And as a mediadistributer in Norway it says on the cover as mentioned before: Distributed by SF Norge, hence it's valid to enter it like this as MC.

This is why i was very much against removing the country names from companies official names. But you are correct, it should be added as SF.

Whats the official name? Here the BBC equivalent uses the name YLE, but thats a brand, the official name is Yleisradio. The company must have an official name, and thats what we should use. I'm sure theres also an official database in Sweden about companies?

Kinoniki: Listen to me and "whispering"!

Or "SF" could mean just about anything.
SF is even the abbreviation for "Suomi/Finland"...

I have not argued that SF is a valid company name. I said it could be.

In the case of SF Norge, you will have to make up your mind. Because you can't enter it as Svensk Filmindustri as media company if it's not called that anywhere on the disc or cover. That would be making up data that is not there. It's either SF or SF Norge.

Another VALID argument is that one thing is a logo and its letters which are in it, and ANOTHER thing is the FULL name of the company.
Why is some people so thickheaded to comprehend this?

It's like the Fox logo. It says 20th instead of Twentieth.

Jeez.

I think SF Norge is an exception. It's a company in that country. It's under Svensk Filmindustri, but it's not the same company.
It's not like Universal Studios (UK) or sth.

I think that is only good for private companies. SVT is a publically funded foundation. Or I'm just not good at searching...

I've just been looking at the official website and as far as I can tell, unfortunately SF Norge AS is the official name of the company.
As Norge AS is a locality-specific suffix, I'm afraid we're left with SF. Not a situation I'm happy with and certainly not going in my local, but I can't see any other way round it for the online.

Ok i searched that site with my nonexistent swedish. And SVT does not exist, what does is:

Sveriges Radio och Television Fastigheter AB
556044-4118

Sveriges Television Aktiebolag
556033-4285

...and for SF:

Aktiebolaget Svensk Filmindustri
556003-5213

Svensk Filmindustri International AB
556540-3937

I agree, I've just looked at the official website and at the bottom of the page it says "© Sveriges Television 2010", that strongly suggests the "proper" name is Sveriges Television not SVT.

whispering is right about SVT from "bolagsverket.se"

and about SF there are too many results. So SF is NOT an official name. Nor was SVT, is concluded.

But SF Norge is still an exception...!

SF=Svensk Filmindustri (in this case) SF own SF Norge, but SF Norge are not that closely related to Svensk Filmindustri like if it was Universal who are in many countries.

But if SF Norge AS=SF, then SF=Svensk Filmindustri as well. Not just SF... And then we have an error.

SF Norge wouldn't get you any hits, because that company is Norwegian, and this site only finds Swedish companies.

@whispering: It's important to note that "SF" does not generate that search result. You need to search for "Svensk Filmindustri".

Yes we do, because Svensk Filmindustri doesn't exist in Norway, but SF Norge does.
Just like SF Norge doesn't exist in Sweden.
So it's not the same as Universal being global.
