Yes, as others have written, they would be capitalized. The German translation would be: "John nahm das Glas Wasser und stellte es auf den Tisch"
Any other way would simply be incorrect. So I don't like it, that only because this filter would work for the English language, that it should be used. It would make e.g. German incorrect in the database.

The filter doesn't even work for English. It only works half way because English rating details usually don't feature proper names. But already with the letter code of TV ratings (e.g. TV-PG DLS) the result is ugly.

Another reason we should have used the actual words for the details.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.

Filter could be expanded to leave those possible rating lettre combinations through?

And then the filter could be expanded to recognise German nouns and English proper names as well.

I have yet to see a Ratings Detail that included a 'proper noun'...nor do I see why it would.

I personally think no filter at all on this field and it should be as credited on the case/in the credits/Official Site you get it from. But that is me.

I personally think that we could have a formatting rule (e.g. sentence formatting) which could work all over the world. And I don't think that we have to enforce this rule with a filter. The contribution system will do.

This was my suggestion as well but, as you can tell, it was rejected.

I'm still confident.

Specially since Germany has such a large profiler user base.

I've altered the filter to set lower case only if the entire rating description is submitted in upper case.  Up-casing of the first letter remains, as does stripping of a leading "For "

Thanks Ken but what does that mean for TV Ratings where all you get is a series of letter?

Like TVPG DLS?

Or should we not use the letters and write out what the letters it stands for on TV Series? This way we would have...

TV PG
Suggestive Dialogue, Moderate to Strong Language, Moderate to Strong Sexual Situations

That would be my choice as it keeps the field consistent.

The "mouse over for "NR" displays "NR".

I think it should display "Not Rated"

Unfortunately the poll in the rules forum is tied between this and just the letters. hopefully where I just posted about this there will be some changing their mind.

He could use a different filter for 'TV Ratings' and as I stated earlier, he could "translate" the letters when you mouse over the rating to display the "words" that each stands for.  Entering four letters is a lot easier than all that verbiage!  Yeah, I'm lazy!!!!

Ken replied in the rules forum that short terms would not be converted, so DLSV would stay DLSV.
