Quoting mediadogg: Quote: As far as the utility of the Parent ID, again as DJ points out, the local DB uses it as a convenient way to organize the nested display in the collections windows. Really? I would have thought that the Content ids in the parent would be used for that. Or am I missing something? | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | Well, you are allowed to prefer whatever you want to use. Doesn't matter to me. I have no idea how Ken coded the Editor. But if I were coding and editing the Parent, and creating a list of candidates to be included as a child, I would be happy to have an "I am already a child" flag to allow a quick run-through of the profiles. The flag happens to be the Parent ID, but it signals the fact that a profile is already a child within a Box Set. I guess you could collect all the content IDs and use that as an exclusion list. Who knows how it is actually coded (or who cares?) Anyways, I'm sure this is boring the hell out of everybody else, so unless there is a burning issue remaining for you, let's put a lid on this one? | | | Thanks for your support. Wondering why the discs were approved but not the covers. Still shows the covers from the individual seasons. I submitted the covers twice ad both times declined. |
