I'm not sure. I was just gauging the titles before separating into individual seasons. Perhaps it would be better do treat things like The 4400 and House of Cards as four and two different titles, respectively, in order to properly judge the numbers.

This isn't so much a call to change the result as pointing out a problem. There's a clear trend here, but apparently, we're supposed to change everything to Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, wait a year or so for him to have a enough new projects hit video to change the result, then change everything to Mahershala Ali. There has to be a better way to handle this.

Isn't that how things currently stand with Robin Wright/Robin Wright Penn, who coincidentally also stars in House of Cards?

At the moment, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali appears to be the common name by about three titles, but it's just a case of documenting this and seeing how things change when he makes more films and knowing when the common name will change to Mahershala Ali.

Actually, he appeared in episode 2 of season 1 first and has been credited in 33 out of 52 episodes, 7 from season 1 and 9 from season 2. Each season has 13 episodes (or chapters) so he should get counted for all 4 seasons if that makes a difference.
