I disagree that he started that as a political thread. He simply said here's info, it's being looked into, the Mexico Supreme Court is looking into it and here's hoping they let her go.

He didn't knock anyone, nor did he even say anything negative about Mexico other that he felt was a miscarriage of justice. But that's okay because the mini-mods came in to the rescue all of us and instead of an intelligent discussion about this case, it turned into OMG THIS COULD BE POLITICAL SHUT IT DOWN!!!1!11!

It's like a bunch of 6 year olds in here who have no control over their actions.

(Although I do concede much of that is to do with the complete lack of moderation, but still.)

it is amusing that people can't be trusted to discuss politics here.

Of course people can't be trusted to discuss politics here. Some people can't even be trusted to discuss the database without it becoming an argument
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

He who MUST get the last word in on a pointless, endless argument doesn't win. It makes him the bigger jerk.

I had a funny feeling with the way this thread advanced it may be the case. Sure enough Yves was here today. I am sure with the way this thread went on... he probably don't feel like it is worth coming back to. But who knows... maybe he will still chime in.

Me personally, while I still personally see that thread as political (whether it was meant to be that way or not) and while I disagreed with most of his ideas concerning DVD Profiler I still feel it is sad he felt he had to leave.
