I know what the rules are, I can read. But surely one can ask why the rules are as they are... even without an immediate desire to change them. If I interpret your tagline correctly you are using this program since 2003. So probably you remember that in a time not very long ago there was this High-Def-Media format war going on. It was fought between the Dark Forces (that supported HD-DVD) and the Porn-industry which preferred BluRay. We know that the good side won (as was to be expected, as behind them both was standing the Hollywood Empire). When both formats showed up on the market it was the decision of our glorious leader not to ignore the new media types, but to integrate them into his database. When one of those media-types disappeared again there still were a lot of them already in the database. True, he could have deleted them from the database, but probably found it better not to annoy a lot of his customers more than necessary. As for the question why UMDs are not allowed in the database? Because the owner of the database doesn't want them in there. We can discuss for ages, but as long as Mr. Cole doesn't change the rules they remain an explicitly disallowed media-type for the online database. Period. Please take note of the fact that they are only disallowed for the online database. Within your local database you can enter any content-carrier you like. You are not even restricted to media-types, you could profile beer-cans if you like. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
