Sorry but "Sound Editorial" only tells me they worked in the sound editing department - it doesn't tell me what job they did in that department - all 3 could be editors, 1 could be the editor with 2 assistants, or 1 editor, 1 assistant, 1 technician.

Better yet: some of the names listed under such header may actually be "Dialogue Editors", "ADR Editors", "Foley Editors" - all "Sound Editorial", but not things we actually track when they're specified.

I have seen credits

John Doe Sound Editorial

without any other sound editor credit.

Not so sure about as a header that is implied "Sound Editorial Department", unless underneath the header specifically said an approved position,

Sound editorial  as a position with a name is sound editor

You could see it as a direct translation of sound editor. And I would agree in the context that those are the only sound editing credits in that film. But if we go that route then all functional equivalent role names can be seen as translations and would be allowed. And I would again agree. But IMO Invelos should state somehow that with "direct translations" "name variants" and "functional equivalents" are included.

And no, "sound editorial" does not mean that the person has been the coffee boy in the sound department. It means that this guy has worked on editing the sound, hence he is credited as a sound editor.

Precisely.  Anything beyond that is pure speculation.

I think it's speculation to say this is just a department heading rather than a job title.

No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.
