One of the reasons that the UK has so many invalid profiles is because of the the early days of Profiler. The lack of proper localities in those early versions meant that anything that wasn't R1 US was usually submitted as UK.

Actually, there haven't been any localities at all in early profiler. When localities have been added to profiler all region 2 profiles have been assigned to UK.

Unfortunately, during the migration from Intervocative to Invelos, many of those titles still made it into the database.  I noticed recently that a ton of Hong Kong titles were still listed under UK and HK localities for the same UPC, despite being HK-only titles.

Actually, very few of those profiles made it to the Invelos database at first, because only the actively used profiles have been added from active users at that time. Only later when Ken has got the chance to take over Intervocative after a lawsuit, he has chosen to import all of those old inactive profiles from the Intervocative database to the Invelos database even though a lot of users have advised against that import. So, Ken himself has chosen to make the database bigger in size at the cost of quality.

It's a shame we don't have a better option to remove these titles.

It seems that Invelos has not much interest in getting rid of those profiles.

P.S. IMO there is still a valid reason to shoehorn a profile to a "guest" locality only if there is no proper locality available in profiler. Of course it would be better to add all those localities or at least add a neutral locality 'other' with a neutral rating system (age only) and maybe USD as currency.

Wow, some thread. I take it Ken deleted all those that were sent to him then? I just did a search for delete and screeners under UK locality and there are only 2 profiles found.

The first is from Feb 2009. I just resubmitted it for deletion. The other from earlier this year, also resubmitted.

I did delete a few myself but after contacting Invelos with a few Barcodes of incorrect locality profiles and basically being told "if i want them deleted to do it yourself" i decided if Invelos are happy for them to be there them why should i worry about it

I have found quite a few obviously incorrect profiles. I always just put "Screeners remove this profile" in the title field and documented why. As far as I can remember, invelos has removed them all .

I don't understand why Cast and Crew from a deleted profile would remain in the database. But, if they do, I will be sure and remove them on any future incorrect profiles I request be deleted.

It's only for those where the profile isn't deleted but simply updated to ---SCREENERS PLEASE DELETE--- or similar. If the entire profile is deleted then the cast/crew will go with them. If they're simply updated though, it will add erroneous titles to that person's figures in the CLT.
