If that's the case, it would be an exception, and I would like to see evidence of that.

A "Stunt Coordinator" is never ever part of the cast, as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry, but I've got to agree with Katatonia on this one, a stunt coordinator is very often the chief stunt person on a film, and will not only organise the stunts but will perform many of them as well.
Personally I'd rather a blanket ban on them, but until then if a stunt coordinator is credited along with the cast, then I'll add a stunt coordinator.

Stunt people aren't mentioned in the credit rules. I do not add them. I didn't see standard film credits yet where stunt people were listed among actors.

You're right, they're not - but I'm sure they used to be. Does anyone know when that was changed or were they never mentioned in the rules?

They were never mentioned in the rules.  I will admit to causing the original discussion, back at IVS, that started this whole thing.

Stripes (043396-059948) has stuntmen incorporated into the cast list.  Because the rules said to "take the actor information from the end credits only, with names and roles listed exactly as they are in the credits and in exactly the same order credited," I added them to the profile.  Skip objected, I started a thread in the forum, and the majority agreed that they should be included.

They were never mentioned in the rules - probably for the simple reason that we're not supposed to track stunt crew in DVD Profiler.

A more logical explanation, as with a lot of the rules, is that the people who wrote the rules didn't conceive of the situation ever coming up.  I don't blame them for not forseeing it as there are just some things you can't plan for.  The rules have been revised, several times, since this first came up...nearly five years ago.  If we are not supposed to track stunt people, it would have been quite simple to adjust the rules accordingly.

While I can justify leaving them out, when they are at the end of a cast list, I can't when they are sandwiched between other cast.

So we shouldn't include Stunt people unless they are Sandwiched Between other Cast.

But even then we should only include actual cast, and not crew. There are cases where cast lists are in separate portions, and even if some crew is included in between, that doesn't make them cast suddenly. And whether crew is included depends on their function.

I think neither apporach really causes much harm, if they have a role/double assigned then we know they performed in front of the camera, playing a role and so are arguable defined as actors. However those just listed as as stunts could be car drivers, helicopter pilots etc so are arguably crew (Without a place to put them in profiler)

Gareth Milne, should his role be "Stunt Coordinator / Edward" or just "Edward" because thats his cast role

Think i already know the answer but does Nick Hobbs get included in the cast?

Nick has it right. Now interetingly enough, especially for those who believe that they can determine that Additional voices when separated completely from Cast Lsts are actually actors, the real question is what are stunts, are they crew or actors. In most listings such as above, or where they actually delineate cast and crew, most of the time the Stunt team seems to be considered part of the CAST. I won't say this is always the case. I think in rare exceptions, at this point where Stunts might actually appear within the cast List as opposed to separate from it, we should continue to NOT list Stunt personnel,Cor-ordinators or otherwise. This would actually work better under my proposal for OPEN credits, but Stunt performers do not receive Oscars, which to date is primarily what we are after, that is why our Crew data islimited to certain Categories and jobs within those categories, does a a Sound Intern get an Oscar...NO, nor do Assistants.

Once again do I support use of Stunts...yes...if there is ineterest and i believe that there is. Do I support lots of other possibilities...yes. In the NOW...No.
ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!

He is credited as "Stunt Coordinator / Edward" so that is how I would enter him.

If it were just 'Motorist', would you enter him?  For me, the fact that he was a stunt motorist, doesn't change the fact that he played a motorist.
